I was wondering how to net the darn thing... (5 years and 3707 days ago)
This made me laugh. I like the reflections too...but the reflection has more detail showing in its tailfin than the actual fish. What happened to the top of the tailfin?
EDIT: Understood author! Makes sense...really funny image!
Happy you got a giggle out of this. The full length of the fish is half out of the water. That was my intent to make it look like a tall tale. About the clearer details of the tail under water, well... there are less ripples on the water.

"Hey Mommy! Look what I caught!"
"Good job Dear!"
"Can I keep it Mommy?"
"No Dear, you have to let it go, or else there might not be any fish for you to catch later."
"Ok Mommy."
Thank you to bogdog Dan for posting the source image on Flickr. (5 years and 3708 days ago)
Try to rotate the reflection so it matches the direction of the water ripples...
Wow... that really helped! Thank you.
where's the fish? Where's the unbelievable catch? This is such an awesome picture--very cute but where's the catch that got away?
If you read the description, the mom makes the girl let the fish free, so it got away. Any sized fish is an incredible catch for a first time fisher such as this.
Your story is very believable---it is supposed to be unbelievable. sorry JMO
Well I think it's unbelieveable as I've never seen a three year old catch anything.
Especially like the warm colors and the reflection on the water.
Nicely done, nice story, but I'm still a little disappointed.
you've never seen a 3 year old catch a fish?! Holy cow, do you live in the middle of the city?
Something like that...
it's funny because there is so much that I haven't seen being a country girl, but yet there's so much I have. I'm glad I am a country girl though because I have had the opportunity to see the look on a 3 year old's face when they catch a fish. We were just at a hunting banquet and there are kids about 10 and under that have shot deer and turkey and more! This is still a wonderful picture--I would put it on my wall!
