many layers were used to create the "freezing effect"

You certainly went to a LOT of effort to create the final image! 10 out of 10 for effort! (I think I would have just done "plastic wrap" - horror of horrors!)
now that I think about it, probably would have worked but would have had too much shine to it as I wanted more of a "frosted" look. oh well learned something so thats always a plus in my book!
Use a background...add something to the image...anything, it's a bit too simple now.
Background as suggested by Giulia - could be the inside of a freezer - or the arctic?

Nice, it seems a real ice sculpture!
Idea is good, but there are some too obvious looking horizontal lines in the sculpture that can do with blending. The horse also lacks some depth right now. Check otherwise some other ice sculptures for inspiration http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_sculpture.
Good luck!
very very cool idea...gl
nice effects !! i like it ........good luck

Too much repetition.
author, this image is better if you dont repeat every thing
Ok guys Thanks Here is a remake any better?
nice in aspect of illusion
Not to big on the mirrored look.... frozen water needs little work, some light texture and where it meets the land.
The frozen water is missing the reflection of little wooden fence and two wood posts.
Thanks I went back looked at it If you look you'll see it's showing an upward reflection not so much right there on the ice I looked at it without the blur and the snow ?

Beautiful
Great work author.
Very interesting idea!
Very clean work
Very good. Can you please also post an sbs?
Another nice piece of work, I know this is nitpicking but what dose it look like if you flip the leafs?
To me it looks as tho the rain is going in one direction an the leafs are being blown in the opposite direction......
s author.. Warlock rit..
i agree with him
Thank you all for your comments! Warlock i tried flipping the parsley leaves horizontally but unfortunately there were a few layers linked to the parsley so it's almost impossible to flip without ruining the image. However, i do agree with you, and it's unfortunate that i didn;t think of that sooner.
Nice surrealism, just a small nitpicking ;- )
Right now, the snow is kinda flat against the radish (almost perfectly lined up with the surface of the radish). Since snow has dimension and it's not flat, I would draw a bit more snow on top, so it doesn't look like it's a piece of white paper on top on the radish
and congrats again Matteo!
Congratulations, Matteo! You are one of my inspirations...
Congratulations for 3rd

Love the silhouette of the woman but IMO the background distracts the eye away from her...maybe try blurring the background to draw more focus to the figure...Best of Luck
Even frozen things need shadows.
@ Christy
Yup, even did that but decided to leave it sharp.
@ CMYK46
ah those shadows ..Yes I`l fix that as soon as possible
Really nice ice effect on the figure. Well done!
Very nice work on the figure! I also think the background is a bit distracting, maybe in part because it's a large negative space. I took a screen shot and cropped in a little above the center tree, left side just about the middle of the white gap where we see the mountains and right side just to the left of the tree leaning down to the right. That makes her larger in frame and gives her more dominance over the background. Of course that's just a suggestion, you're the artist whatever you think is most important. A very fine entry GL!
Good god man you gone completely sideway....
Sorry, it was the avatar again. Unique entry! GL!
very very cool entry author...ice figure is amazing...best of luck
