Google search says this is not a real band.
Cool head thing with awesome tire-tread-like marks, one if which cleverly morphs into a wry smirk, and good band-name choice. But I wouldn't really know what the head thing was if I hadn't been told the band name -- and I think being able to figure out the band from the image would be more compelling. I'm guessing this is a watermelon. The eyes having pupils, however subtle, hints at seeing to my mind. I would note that 'fruit' can be plural, so adding an array of slightly stylized fruit (your interpretation of orange and banana would be very interesting, for example) with (varying number of, perhaps) glazed eyes might convey the band's name more clearly. And then I think the conductor's baton is unnecessary (unless "Band" is part of your band's name -- but then why not have the fruit playing instruments?).
BLIND MELON
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_Melon
Unseeing means BLIND
and the fruit is a WATER MELON.. they are green on the outside and red on the inside...
but I figured BLIND MELON would be pretty obvious (I threw the red and white cane to make it super easy)
(Err umm.. the next time you two go out.. the first ten drinks are on me.. you really need them)
"One last thing, it has to be a real band (be it from the past or present), no imaginary bands." According to your "logic" I could call the Doors the "Hinged Portals". Just stick to the contest guidelines.
OKAY MR. Grumpy Butt... now go report the next door neighbor for having to many kittens
(now even more serious about those drinks... MRRREOOOWWW)
I like my next door neighbor for having too many kittens...I eat them.
Before or after you ask to see their papers?
Now that I know that the name of the band is 'Blind Melon,' I retract my comment about the conductor's baton and instead note that the red part of a blind person's cane is at or near the ground-touching end. (BTW "watermelon" is one word and shows more variability than you describe according to Merriam-Webster: "a large oblong or roundish fruit with a hard green or white rind often striped or variegated, a sweet watery pink, yellowish, or red pulp, and usually many seeds."
Okay, just to give CMYK some support, the title is really unclear that it means "Blind Melon..." As far as I'm concerned it looks alot like a green football with a pool cue.
blink a few times gamemastertips... and you can give CMYK a quick prostate exam with your eyelashes.. LOL
...I think I'll just walk away and forget you ever said that.
I'm Just teasing you gamemastertips... but you did set yourself up for that (just call it green football revenge )
(a visual pun with the actual name hint including picture.. there is nothing in the picture that suggests football and pool cue combined with the hint from the title... that was quite a stretch dude )
but as I said... all in good fun I'd really be upset if the piece would have been totally ignored.. hehehe.. Too Late now.. hehehe
Alright, very well. :p Just saying what it looked like to me at first glance. I don't listen to bands anyhow so I don't really know many names.
OH you are so entertaining! Thanks ; )
It does make it more fun to guess, but I was quite lost for a second there. I thought the cane was a giant needle for poking his eyes out.
nice one!
well I remember Blind melon and think its great sweetheART ;D
great work author...best of luck
Nah, this one was easy. Blind Melon came right to me. The instructions DO NOT SAY THAT THE TITLE HAS TO BE THE NAME!! Just that the image has to represent a real band. So simple. Guessing is fun.
In my opinion its a very very beautiful entry .......... so wish u gud luck .......
with the comments...
good luck

Vegetarians just don't understand that fruit is alive, and you shouldn't eat it. I feel passion about this. (Tongue and Cheek.) (5 years and 3416 days ago)

Funny! But the forward ball half must be bigger, considering the distance from the other half.
i agree with Erica about ball size, also u could considerate to add some motion blur to the ball it self because she is on move too...i like so much how u blended holes for the fingers......good luck
Cute idea, g/l =]
Thanks for the comments. Fixed the ball half size now.
Good idea I would have thrown some of the fruit on the lane being it broke open and show less in the core...lol
nice idea...

Reflection of the cut fruit is not matching, and spilled juice is not convincent. The reflection of the knife (and the knife itself) is right on the original; now, for your image, according to the perspective of the glass table, it's wrong, and needs correction as well.
Thanks erkuri I did it over any better?
I am impressed with the amount of work you put into this entry.
Good technique.
Nice title = )
