The beak and eye are blended well....but....is the snake supposed to be the tail of the creature? If so, it needs to be blended better because to me it looks like the snake is not part of the creature but just another animal behind it.

That depends on how you define a chimera. In Greek mythology, the Chimera was an awesome fire-breathing monster with the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a serpent.
