I think I would have removed the hat and given some type of ears. Nice job.

I think I would have removed the hat and given some type of ears. Nice job.
I personally thought the hat was funny (ears would help, but it would make his head no longer a balloon) and I wanted to stay on theme THANKS!
looks amazingly real.

I'll respect of every soldier
haha cool idea
Nice mood. I confess that I feel like the wimpy-edged crosses in the background look more vampirish than an homage to the fallen, however. I think crisp, military edges on the crosses would be more compelling.
great
Nice one, it's a great tribute for all those heroes that lost their lives in any war.

I've always been bad at faces. Your tutorial was so well written and descript that I decided to try it. I could only get so far and realized I am not cut out for faces :( (5 years and 3468 days ago)
DOH! I forgot they post on the sidebar :o
Oh this is going to be embarrassing *blush*
I think you are in fact of to an excellent start, you should contemplate keeping going.
Agree, your start is great . Don't give up and keep going.
PRACTICE MAKES A MAN PERFECT.
never give up on something. You should really continue this work , even its only for your own personal use .We grow in learning , stop learning means stoping to exist.Contests are always a challenge, may i can suggest you to look at few more tutorials , for several technics
established Painters have a very own set of brushes and each have a own style to paint .Just keep going on
Author, I also think it's very difficult to draw, specially human body (many times I put a picture on a layer below to trace the lines). You don't have to make everything the same way of the tut; find your own way, and you'll see it's easier... And all the words said above, I make mine: don't give up, just keep going on, practice makes a man perfect!
I think what you did was good - far better than I could do....
You ought to post another with a little more progress, kind of like an ongoing venture. It would be something to watch. keep on practicing!
You have done really good so far. Don't give up, I will be waiting for the finished entry.
wow, I was first embarrassed that I uploaded it forgetting that it would post on the sidebar. I am surprised so many people looked at it already and commented on it. Unfortunately, I had a couple of drinks while doing this face and the tedious parts is what got me :o I totally deleted it all without saving because it annoyed me. Maybe I should actually try this completely sober LOL Thanks for all the encouraging comments!

The dark area on the right does not match in tone to the rest of the image, it looks too blue and does not add anything to the mood or composition. You'd be better off cropping the sides and reducing the fireworks' bokeh effect to squeeze it back into the image.
There's a shadow on the legs where there should be a highlight, since they're lit by the bulb.
