A Little Girl's World - created by Nellista

The minute I saw this image I just thought the chair would be perfect for reading...so I decided to create a magic atmosphere filled with books and vintage items!
I added girl and each item from different PNG files to create room atmosphere.
Added shadows individually for each item, colored overall and then added overall shadows.
Added backround texture, played with adjustment layers.

o.o; its like im in the middle of the story shes reading, when i look at your image :P fantastic a few observations.. it does give the image a magical effect but the highlights on the bookbands i wodner what light creates that? all lights come from behind the books on the floor right? some edges are a tat sharp and could use a lil touch with a soft blur brush, the piece of cloth comming from the basket , the part laying on the floor really looks odd like parts are cut off or something o.o; anyways high score though

I made a copy of the image, played little bit with levels, then I set it's blending to saturation, then I pasted my niece's lips over it, soft brushed eraser to blend. Then I started to google for glasses, but decided to make 'em from scratch, last thing I did was make the eyes little bit more vibrant with the help of levels. That's all folks. avatar Leanord
Leanord says:

Looks very cut and paste, the glasses need a reflective quality and they are also very bright and high contrast compared to the face.

avatar visba
visba says:

The glasses need to be blended better to the image of the girl, and the right side of the mouth looks kinda odd. Otherwise good job.

avatar pixelkid
pixelkid says:

Nice idea! Need some slight shadow under glasses. The lips look a bit 'clean' in color...dirty them up a bit.

Once again, I probably over did it with the Adjustments an editing. But I like the way she came out, even though I probably could have done it in fewer steps. (5 years and 3762 days ago)

Noir says:

Fewer than three steps? :P

author says:

I used to spend all day on my sbs. Then I would get no comments. Then I would get a low score with no feedback. Takes too much time. If anyone really wants to know how I do something I wrote out the steps. I'm not bothering with individual pictures of steps.

avatar ponti55
ponti55 says:

A bit filter heavy, but it looks nice.

author says:

No, only one filter. Gaussian blur used once. Everything else is adjustments and levels.

What I was trying to with her is make her "virtual world" like. I think I got it for the most part. Using the source photo I made her dress green (using the lettuce leaf) and the burger reflection in her sunglasses. (5 years and 3763 days ago)

I think if you add some texture hair lines you will have quite a wonderful chop on your hands (the hair is very flat, but that could also be the fact it's not in HIGH RES... can't make out any detail... great job otherwise.. good luck

avatar woodztockr

For some reason I just really like this image.... listen to Golem.... and this is an Awesome image! g/l

avatar Leanord
Leanord says:

LOVE the idea, the only thing I see that would improve it would be to add a glossy finish (more reflective) to the glasses, they kind of look like they are made of paper. Also you may want to curve it a tiny bit, lenses usually have a slight curve.
