...you know the rest.
Used variations adjustment, burn tool, blur tool and clone tool on different layers so as not to screw up the preceding step. Thanks to morguefile.com for the source (5 years and 3467 days ago)
- 1: source 2
1.what I did is just use the filter -> poster edges for the face
2.duplicate the matches then filter -> ink outline
3.use the matchbox cover in the face then set the blend mode to multiply
4. color overlay with the particles with the color of red.
5. last apply a some texture. make opacity ,20% (5 years and 3546 days ago)

Struggled as to what I could do with this, no other sources used , just chopped the original and selected parts to make this.
step1 - used marquee tool to select parts of the source
step 2 - cleaned up the selected parts with eraser tool to shape each part
step 3 - flattened image and blended parts carefully with smudge tool
step 4 - placed the whole source as background, flipped and resized to get a contrast with the foreground image
step 5 - duplicated background, desaturated and opacity down to 50%
Step 6 flattened entire image (5 years and 3569 days ago)

used source only SBS to be added in a bit (5 years and 3663 days ago)
looks very nice, good luck!
Interesting! Everything except for the eyes has a slightly out of focus look to it in high resolution. Nice mystery and mood to it though!
Just for future refference, use the publish entry later option and you can post your entry and SBS as the same time.
nicely done creature but I don't see what you tried in step 8.

"smoke on the water...the fire engine guy"
(5 years and 3668 days ago)
you didnt do alot i'd say
You know it's impossible to have both the background and the fireman in focus right? I would blur the background a little bit.
Simple but well chopped
Oh, well good then you can look at your own photography and see that I'm right. It wouldn't be that clear in the background. There would be some level of OOF in the distance.
simple chop... great lyrics,,,, good presentation of misheard. NICE WORK AUTHOR>

He looks like he put iodine on skin, it's too yellow IMO because he has white-pink skin tone.
Erikuri. If you've ever had a shiner, you'd know that this is what it looks like after a few days...that's what I was going for. Thanks for your comments!
Jawsh, thanks for the image..thanks for the nice compliments. I didn't want to overdo it...just wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Like the title says...he asked for a shot...LOL
My entry will be removed because of the "not directed at any pxl member" rule. Thanks to all for the comments. Fact is that I didn't know that the pic was an image of a member until all was said and done. It's not like we all hang out together....what a drag! On the bright side, there are some very good chops out there so I probably wouldn't have won anyway. Thanks for the fav Jawsh!
Thanks for the kind words Jawsh...To think this was the only theme that attracted me...LOL. Maybe I have a real dark side ad don't even know it. Just so you know, your approval on this work means everything. After all, I did bust you up...LOL Thanks again!
switched source image...go to "source 2" for the kid's pic
just because you could does not mean you should, the attempt at making it look like a black eye looks more like an ink stained eye
Obviously Loyd, my photoshopping skills are not as good as yours. To be perfectly honest, I'm not in it for the money or the glory. I do it because I enjoy it and this is a good place to get ideas and practice. I also have been playing guitar for forty years but you probably do that better than I do also. Thanks for your comments and criticisms though. They are greatly appreciated!!!
There is no one in for the money or glory here author. I find your second choice for a subject/source to be in poor taste portraying a small child with a black like you have. No I have never had any desire to play a guitar.
Strange that you say that. You didn't like the first choice and you don't like the second choice. Too bad you don't see the humor in it. I hope you don't think that I condone this type of thing. You went as far (indirectly) to mention, in your comments of another disqualified image, about "how quickly your image has been pulled and yet others haven't been dealt with yet" or something to that effect. Do you think I don't know who that was directed at. I know you'll say that I'm paranoid because you are that predictable. But to be perfectly honest, I really don't care what you think. I just know that my instincts are usually right. And if you can prove that the comment was not directed at me, I will be glad to apologize publicly with the same intensity that I used to accuse you. Fair enough? In the meantime, I hope you have a nice life up there on your high horse. Just remember, the higher you rise, the greater the fall
Hey man This is not directed at you. The statement I made pertaining to other rule violations in the entry that ultimately got yanked had nothing to do with you. As a matter of fact the entry I was referring to is still posted, it is still in violation. As for the issue of taste well I personally find no humor in it what so ever. You just keep practicing and beware of comments posted because I am sure you will see more critique and not just from me. BTW welcome to the site have fun.
Well there was no reason to leave the comments for they no longer apply to this entry. It's a shame they couldn't just realize the only reason to impose that rule was not to offend anyone. This is, sadly is not as convincing as the first of me.
The color of the shiner is off, and I don't think a little kid with a black eye would be smiling.
