I started out creating a teddy, then I decided to have it sit on that stone...thingy. Then suddenly it turned into a christmas image.I guess I'm just in that mood now :)
Everything is made either out of the source image or custom made by me.
I would LOVE comments, critiques, anything useful, they make me happy :) (5 years and 3285 days ago)
Hi Pxleye members. I'm still in the beginner level on this site and try my best to make the best images I can, but I get a bit disheartened that I rarely ever get comments, whether good or bad. I would really love to learn more because art is what I want to do in my life. Comments are really greatly welcomed
This is an extremely good piece for a beginner ... a few little things I noticed. There is a bit of blur on the base that the Teddy is sitting on - just up from the bottom. Joining of the legs could be a little less "smudgie" and there is a bit of redundent cloning by his neck on the left side (my left as I look at him ;D). Shadows are not quite right but I have problems with those myself so not sure what you could do to fix them ... and the base look a little like it is "tilting' forward.
I know that it is too late to fix anything now but thought I would let you know for future entries ... sorry about being late but I was sick and just did not have time this week to get to it before
These are all pretty minor problems; I had to look at it in Hi Res to catch them. As I said at the beginning, it is a wonderful image and you have done a very good job ... keep up this way and you are definitely going in the right direction! Bravo!
Very good SBS as well!
Hey, thanks so much arca. I really appreciate it. I did notice the blur myself, and don't know at what point that happened, but it was too late to fix then. I do need to learn more about shadows. But again, thank you for the advice, and I'm glad you like it
You did a good job on the making of the teddy bear from stones. You will learn more here at the contests.... Just be patient, it takes time to be a master....but you will.... good luck.
Cool mossy teddy
Thank you both! I appreciate it. I didn't mean to come off as impatient, and I understand that practice makes perfect. I just wanted some advice instead of feeling like I entered for nothing. Advice is why I enter so that I can grow. But anyway, thanks again.
Very nice work author...great construction....gl
Keep it up author! You're doing great best of luck
Congrats for your third place!

I like the idea, but my questyion is if you are ripping the picture, why would her face still be underneath but in B&W? Perhaps it would be more effective to have her face blank and maybe an inverted (mirror image) of the smiling face on the back of the torn piece...
hehe @ RayTedwell: actually i do not have an intention ripping her face, it is actually a drawing of her face in a paper that is burnt a long time ago.
I did miscalculated something obviously
What i'd like to do is a "Force Perspective Photography" Effect..
btw thanks for the comment.
Ahh I see it now! My comment looks a bit silly now
What I might suggest then is trying to create a little more depth to show the distance of the old drawing and the photo. You could do this bu adding a shadow from the paper and hand, or adding a slight amount of blur to the photo.
Good effort, but you have too many gray tones in the "sketch," which is what is causing the visual confusion. Try adjusting Brightness and Contrast to make it more of a Line Art paper sketch, and adjust your burnt edges a bit, making them larger. They are too "lacy" at present.
You've gotten pretty close with the effect, though!
tnx guys i will try to change it a bit..

author.. Please put the ORIGINAL image at the same contrast level as the finished image.. it will balance the image and make it more readable ... (nice work..equalizing the images will make the balance go through the roof)... GREAT JOB
EDIT:
I totally agree
thanks for the comments, fixed it
SBS would make this better.
@CMYK46 SBS uploaded
Much better! Great job and glad I held my vote
i felt the original image would distract, but its betta dis way. Thnx toothpick134
Great work author...its really noticeably double emotion here, and with source that u used, this is not very easy way to achieve...so hat down for that...also your SBS is very good...best of luck
I my opinion, the eye you've created on the happy face looks quite fake. It's much larger and not as deep set as the original ones. Otherwise, the changed expression is great.
Congrats for 2nd
congrats...
Congratulations!
