very nice, i been looking for the same idea but couldnt get what i wanted so i gave up since i wouldnt have the time to make waht i wanted even if i found the right source lol.. high marks
I knew I wanted to do a phoenix of sorts, so I searched for a LONG time to find just the right bird to transform. I'm rather pleased with the source I found and with the final product I arrived at. If you have a minute PLEASE look at the high res, there's a ton more detail than you can really see in the small image :) (5 years and 2943 days ago)

Hawks are much larger, and the red flesh tones of the hand sources could be toned down, but it's a good effort.
Thanks CMKY. I had not noticed how red the hand is, you are right. About the size of the hawk, though, all the doghawks I have ever seen have been quite small.
