Nice entry, I would like to see it at the correct size tho, and I know the reflection makes it look pretty here, but at that size? Also, with the black surround that means all of the top part of the site would be black, but I would like to see that

OliviasArts' comment poisoned my mind , but looking at the SBS was the antidote. I like how the SBS shows not just a logo but a total coordinated banner (which I see now should really have been part of this contest). Black is intense and I think it makes a great background for pics, but accommodating it will require more of a redesign of the site than your SBS shows, I think. More problematic, black also suggests classy, formal, fine art -- qualities perhaps not wholly consistent with the personality of this site.

Not sure if it should be red (and of the background should be black), but I do like the simplicity of this image. Could work, though maybe also a bit too replaceable for any other possible site. Good luck!

Dan - I see your point entirely, but I believe in striving for excellence. I don't think the current logo reflects that. WHile I'm not perfect, I think it's great to offer a high end blank canvas for inspiration.

Burtzomega - as someone who specialises in branding, I would say there is no such thing as 'too simple'. In fact, the opposite - and so many people complicate their logos unnecessarily. Just get hold of one of the LogoLounge volumes for great logos...

No clue why I saw a wave in the background image...but also as eye it looks a bit distracting. Not sure if the typo is still visible enough in smaller version. Good luck!
