The techniques used to create this entry were many uses of layer blending. Along with a hue/ saturation layer and many color balance layers. There was basic rendering on the whites of the eye, and cloud render throughout the rest of the photo. (5 years and 3212 days ago)

I am loving the blues and purple... Real nice job!

author says:

I was going to add other color into it, but I figured this set of analogous colors was a good fit.

I would have put the "stamps" around her eyes as if they were tatoos or makeup around her eye (darker)

tattoos I mean

avatar cbkh2bankai

I agree with k5683 just make the tattoos around the eye darker IMO This is pretty good just don't make the opacity low and make sure it blends in properly when you make it darker.

avatar Siddhartha

i suppose u used brushes for the tatoos...plz provide the link to the tatoo brush....

author says:

Hay Siddhartha,

I have created that shapes in "Inkscape software" - www.inkscape.org
then imported in Photoshop. I have uploaded that will send you link once the winner of this contest declared.

I like the idea, but my questyion is if you are ripping the picture, why would her face still be underneath but in B&W? Perhaps it would be more effective to have her face blank and maybe an inverted (mirror image) of the smiling face on the back of the torn piece...

author says:

hehe @ RayTedwell: actually i do not have an intention ripping her face, it is actually a drawing of her face in a paper that is burnt a long time ago.

I did miscalculated something obviously

What i'd like to do is a "Force Perspective Photography" Effect..

btw thanks for the comment.

avatar RayTedwell

Ahh I see it now! My comment looks a bit silly now

What I might suggest then is trying to create a little more depth to show the distance of the old drawing and the photo. You could do this bu adding a shadow from the paper and hand, or adding a slight amount of blur to the photo.

avatar MossyB
MossyB says:

Good effort, but you have too many gray tones in the "sketch," which is what is causing the visual confusion. Try adjusting Brightness and Contrast to make it more of a Line Art paper sketch, and adjust your burnt edges a bit, making them larger. They are too "lacy" at present.

You've gotten pretty close with the effect, though!

author says:

tnx guys i will try to change it a bit..

Nice image overall, though I would suggest burying a part of the statue head, he looks a bit floaty now, and if he was still sinking, the surface of the water would be very rough from the impact. I would probably dull down the bubbles a little too, they stand out and look a bit artificial at the moment.

Great job author!! What if you made the area behind her on the left where the smoke is red and yellow to help make that "pop" a little more....maybe a little darker gray for the background just behind her...have it fade from dark to light.....Just a suggestion and best of luck
