The shadows on the baby are far darker and sharper than the shadow off the duck. There is also a light shadow off the top of the duck which is totally out of place. The light source on the baby is very bright, while there is no real light source showing on the duck. You can try to use the Dodge Tool to create the light value refraction on the duck, but the shadows will need a lot of work separately.
the ducky looks flat, add alittle white (or near white-yellow) shine at the curved portion (example, the head area) and part of the beak..
the baby don't seem to be interested in the ducky, should find one that looks at the ducky
That is a cute image anyway.... good luck.
Ahhhh how sweet, the baby is so cute, God bless! Best of luck author!

I made this entry for a contest on deviantart, and i decided to submit it here too. (5 years and 3039 days ago)
I can relate to this image. Personally, I always wear a flower print dress while wading in the ocean in the rain, especially when there are no maple trees within a mile of the shore. No drips coming off the hat or her arms? Amazing how she looks so dry...
thanks bob, u actually made me laugh..lol..u said exactly what my brother said when he saw it..i do think i gave the dress a wet look to it tho..i just had the image lying around and i wanted to see what others thought about it..thanks for the comment
Author, thanks for having a sense of humor. I just couldn't resist.
Oh yes! Save for those issues, this is looking real good just like a painting! (:
CMYK nailed it.
If you paint some "wet reflection" on her (or use the Plastic Wrap filter on a duplicate layer of her, then make that into a Layer Mask filled with black, and then judiciously paint the reflections you want onto her with a white brush), it will help with her looking so dry.
You might also want to have some water dripping off of her hat...
The Liquify Tool will help you make the dress less fluffy and dry, and more clingy and wet.
There is no hope for the out of place maple leaves except to get rid of them. They truly look odd in this image...
no problem Bob, i like a good joke, even if it's at my expense..lol..mossy i dont have the file anymore..if u look closely u can see water sprinkling off the hat..and if u look at the dress, it does have plastic wrap filter on it..FYI mossy, i'm pretty sure i know how layer masks work..but thanks..about the leaves, i like them so they stay..thanks for the comment
very awesome assembly, good luck author, a very fantasy picture, with a very nice mood
The thing is, it's pretty hard to imagine Bob instead of that woman...
No, I meant it's pretty hard to make a rainy image with a person if he/she's not already wet. You have to use plastic wrap, paint water dripping, and even overlay some underwear so that the dress looks transparent. It's pretty risky so we can understand people taking already walked paths.
You should check this though, i find it very realistic:

Author, as I said, I was only having fun, and appreciate your sense of humor. Sorry things kinda got blown out of proportion afterward.

The edges of the beaver tail are a bit too hard, and the fur looks strange suddenly stopping at those hard edges. You might slightly "fluff" the edges with a brush and the smudge tool, but at the very least, slightly go over them with the blur tool at a low setting to help them blend better with the background.
