Nicely done, perhaps a bit too dark.
Just looking at it on a different monitor and you are absolutely right. I'll adjust it when I get home and I'll also recalibrate my monitor.
Adjusted the brightness to make it lighter.
This is so well done, it's a shame there's no SBS!!

I created this with Corel Paintshop Photo Pro, first I changed the photo to a negative greyscale image, used lots of airbrushing and the text is something I wrote myself. Hard to say where the inspiration came from; I think I was trying for a spooky, Halloween type thing! A haunted ship.... a lost soul.... (5 years and 2686 days ago)

I expected more than this , using brushes this much shows you know what to do but did not try as much as you can, right?
There is not much effort to get a nice image. Look at the other entries to get an idea of what to do best. Not copying, but doing your own work. But you tried, and that is what counts..... GL.

No shadow? What's the triangular thing on her head?
Over all this is real nice image, how ever...like Nater says, hard lines gota go. I suggest taking your smudge tool, dropping the strength to about 20ish and give it a go over. Also there is one of your layers causing a mess. EG. The triangle in her head and the shadow thing following her back. Her bum is a little sharp too
If However your image is already flattened the above smudge method will help with them shadowy bit in conjunction with clone tool. The composition is awesome. Get in close and has a look over you work and clean it up, make it special.
The granddaughter finally goes home 2morrow and i will redo.
