It's too dark and indistinct. Is the figure flat or 3 dimensional? Is that a tree on the right or a frost pattern?
No background hurts this image more than helps it.

I've seen the ice effect using trees on the text tutorial... you'll notice on that, that the main body of the text becomes 'whiter' on the outside, which I think in this image is missing... ultimately whne using a texure like this everything else has to follow... just using a tree brush like this is just making the image look as thought it's somewhat clipped inside...

I like the effect of tree ice. With a little more work on the hair and a better background this entry would have rated high.

I dunno, there is something about this that I like. Sure, it's a bit confusing and could have used a background, but I still like this
