CMYK yep the characters are copyrighted, but I've used photo's of statues. If those photo's aren't allowed so wouldn't be the contest sourceimage. We're talking about photo's of mass produced products here, not original artwork and or drawings. It's a different thing. They've become like photo's of IPods and Playstations.
