The tank and mechanical hand images are my own photographs. (5 years and 2512 days ago)
Nice!
Did you try moving the prosthetic further up her arm? Also to me, at least, the machinery seems to be sort-of just stuck there; I can't quite put my finger on why...maybe attaching the straps further back would give it a more cohesive feel?
The mechanical hand is exactly where her original hand was, that is where it looked best. Also it is difficult to make the straps join the tank as the harness needs to be tight against her body to be realistic. In this position you wouldn't be able to see them join on the tank. Thanks for your comment.
Ah! I think I've figured out what doesn't look right to me..the actual position of the machine...I think that, from the viewer's point of view, it might look more natural moved left and rotated clockwise slightly.
Well done, author. And good uhm... choice of source . Good luck!
I always say Waz, if you are going to use a model then you may as well use a sexy one.
Pretty big gizmo on her back...no wonder she can't stand up!
With the propellers spinning Bob, it can support its own weight.
Amazing creativity! GL
Nice image and great idea and execution on the whole thing.
Regarding the background factory stock, there are rules for offsite usage that require written permission from the owner. Just checking if you got permission.
"Angelrat-Stock images may only be used on deviantART. If you wish to use Angelrat-Stock images somewhere other than deviantART, you must request and recieve written permission before you use the images."
Angelrat-Stock's last journal entry states:-
"I am no longer active here ... I really don't read messages or notes anymore so if I don't respond ... that's why.
Use what's here ... no need to let me know ... you can still post what you have used here and I'll have a look and add to favs when I find the time. I still enjoy looking at what's been done with my crap.
Just enjoy your art... peace ... Angelrat-Stock (Feb. 21, 2009)"
That infers that permission is already given.
As written in the response above the DA author has stated they are no longer active and added "Use what's here ... no need to let me know ... ". This does indicate that permission or contact is no longer required and we will accept that as written.
Author, I got burned by DA rules recently when I used a pic and contacted the author for permission but they never got back to me; so I've started a bookmark folder of DA stock suppliers who only require a credit, not permission, to use any of their work.
Well done, a fine example of Steampunk! I can see you like the subject!
@kcinsti- DA does have many fine images but the authors often have complex rules. Good idea to keep a list of the easy to use authors. Remember also to check DA sources closely, some images may be chopped and that's not always clear also don't use "premade" backgrounds or images, those are most always chopped works.
Congrats, Solkee!
Congrats Rob!!
Congratulations
Didn´t have a chance against this big...eeh....machines on the back, if u know what I talk about
Congrats!

Fantastic idea an result! But i think the necklace and the blouse look a bit too pasted, some under shadows would help it look more natural. Good luck author.
Wonderful "before and after" model! Well done with the background and the hair.

My first thought for this contest was to wake a lightbulb balloon! This just seemed like a very steam punk-ish thing to do so I ran with that :) (5 years and 3083 days ago)
maybe a winner....great
What a cool idea! The heat from the bulb provides the lift! Great image, very fun. I'd love to see the sky full of these!
Oh thanks!!! and Mossy great idea, I might mess around with putting some smaller ones in the background when I have some time
Perfect!...
That would be cool, but I meant I'd love to see the "Real World" sky full of these!
If you add more to your image, just don't "cookie cutter" use the same one, okay? Better to leave it be than detract with clones...

Wonderful work! This just yelled "fav fav" to me!
very steam punk... woo hoo... excellent work!
Stunning work
absolutely awesomme ...
Very fun and creative steampunk approach to this contest.
I don't get the mixture of taut cables (clearly supporting the gondola hanging from the balloons) and flaccid cables between the balloons and the gondola. And the small balloon's connection point to the gondola is very odd.
The horizon line of the balloon bottoms is down (albeit different horizon lines for each balloon) while that of the gondola is up.
Notwithstanding the title on source 4, I find the ship more wreck than steampunk.
Fantastic work author, my fav !
