I would make a sky& sea out of the background. Having a rain gives you problems in rendering the humidity, water drops, etc, so you might want to rethink that.

fun image, a lovely childlike feel ( that is a good thing) . the sort of image one would see in a story book.

if you're going to add rain you should add it to the front as well as the back because the camera would see some rain in front of it..and the tail looks unattached from the monkey. I know it's behind the leaves but the entire base should be touching the leaves. The shoulder should be drawn out more as well. Other than that nice original entry.

Well done, but why isn't he holding the umbrella? Might have been more effective if he was holding it and acid rain had eaten a few holes in it...still, nice image.

The idea is that he let go of the umbrella to strech his hands towards the sun beam that breaks through the clouds

Nit picky, but it looks like a couple of masking relics exist, one at the edge of the umbrella, and one on the upper hand. I do like the image, though.

I have a problem with shadows going different directions, but love the idea and composition.

it doesnt look like his hands are stretching towards the sun...it looks like he dropped the umbrella and doesnt realize he dropped it

I think I'd be thinking about a shirt before I would a gas mask. If his arms were coming down, it might look like he dropped it, but I agree with RickLaMesa's comment and CMYK had a good point too

(yelling NOT BAD! APPLE FITS..eh...fits pretty good in the hand. Maybe a little detail: some of the drops are kinda hanging in the air under the leaf. Still, they produce a shadow behind the drop, like it's added on a surface. But then that's not possible, because there's air as background. Good luck!

It's a nice abstract. I think that putting anything else in the image would take away from that. I would hang it over my couch. It would look nice with my livingroom's color scheme, I think.
