The stork was cut out in sections and each section was rotated and transformed to fit the model pose.
The wings were cut from sources 2 & 3 to make the wings that cover the arms. The merged image was copied and flipped vertically, then blended on multiply mode to create the reflection.
Another merged image was copied and filtered with the poster edges filter to enhance the edges. It was blended on 30% soft light mode.
The background was made using the render clouds filter and the other clouds were painted over it using the cloud brushes. New feathers were painted on the head area
A vignette was added to keep the viewers attention in the centre.

This is nice, I thought of the same kind of concept when I saw the image too!?!.... as good as it is I think it could be improved by paying some more attention to two areas;
(1) making sure the reflection matches the feet, especially the hind foot... it looks slightly off IMO
(2) Adding a little thickness to the spiral and rear opening......
