Good source pic! The lower lip is maybe a bit too stretched, perhaps you'd like to make it more as in the original. Check the tear in this image http://www.flickr.com/photos/lisa_at_home/2746833785/ It's more transparent with a bit of shadow and a more stronger highlight. This way the drop gets more volume. Maybe you can make a same certain thing for your tears. Good luck!

I'm going to try to help you author. You need to improve a lot of things like: the eyes(to distorted) / the fur at the top head(looks fake and blurry) / the mustache hair(strange) / mouth and nose (too blurry). Instead liquify, why not warp? Another help: happy or sad the pupil / iris and cornea must be the same. Sometimes the pupil with some changes (small or big). That's the eyes anatomy.

HavingFun advices are excellent.Myself learn a lot from what he said. I dont think all advices are good for this particular entry. For me is obvious that author humanize the cat. Is not realistic but is very expressive. Even if is anatomycal wrong.
