What can happen to someone who drinks a lot... (5 years and 3555 days ago)

Inspired by this quote:
There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.
Carl Jung
---
In case some of you wonder, how I interpreted this quote:
The nights and days shall be represented through the stars and the daytime background.
The curtain stands for the view you have for your own and also other people's lifes.
The girl represents the happy life, while her clothes stand for the "measure of darkness".
The two sad statues stand for the sadness, which is balancing the happiness.
The rope is in this case completely straight and not bend in the middle where she is standing, because it stands for the strength you need to have, when you feel sadness.
That is the same for the hands. They are part of the sadness, but they are balancing the happiness in form of the horses.

very very cool work author...high marks from me...
Nice entry, very playful and colorful.
Very creative and a lovely, surreal image. Having the statues behind the curtain while the umbrella is in front of it might a be little too surreal, however. Also, I confess I would have struggled to identify the sad elements without your explanation. The colorful, entranced gazing statues, for example, don't immediately say "sadness" to me.
Very nicely done, I really like the ethereal feel of the piece. Best of luck to you.
A lovely whimsical entry! For some reason it reminds me a little of Pippi Longstockings. Well done!
It' true... A bit of sadness is needed, to be able to feel happiness and to know how valuable is this feeling. Very touching entry!

Try to upload a high resolution version
yes the source image itself was in poor quality!
awesome but just improve the quality!
nice...
Sometimes it's difficult to find a good source with the concept we want... And many times when we get "that" one, the quality is NG!
Not bad thinking...very imaginative title as well...! Small remarks though: maybe you could have gone a bit further and make the branches look like actually emerging out of the head! And also...try removing the one on the right side, it sort of distracts and lack sense! Oh...and maybe play a bit more with the pink smoke brushes, make them better defined, cause at this point they almost look like just spots of color! Best of luck!
You can't link to your own albums on pxl, upload your source in one of your steps and comment that it's your own image, if it is...

From Happy To Sad. (5 years and 3766 days ago)
Nice job! The cheeks look a bit over liquified, but overall the finished result is very believable. I like how you removed the laughter lines as well! Good luck
