Deep in the forest, in a clearing hard to find, six magical little elves cavort around their elegant, comfy, quirky home.
UPDATE: Replaced the background altogether.
UPDATE #2: Added fantasy effect, explained in SBS.
Many thanks to:

Very fun shoe choice. While converting a shoe into a home (a la the Old Woman who lived in a shoe) might not be that original, this home is very charming and realistic. However, I think the figures, among other elements, could cast stronger shadows plus the shoe could have greater contrast so it is even more clearly the focal point as required by the contest.
Very nice image with loads of positive energy...IMHO there is not much things to fix just maybe just slight blurring edges of the home/shoe cause in high resolution, especially with the zoom its visible difference between resolution of the background and the rest of the image...any how i like this image and i wish u best of luck author
good job!
when can I move in ;p
nice work and sweet too
Thanks, everyone!
tumble tumble tumble very cute
Fun image! (Please fix link 2).
Thanks, CMYK. I fixed the link.
Does anyone else have trouble with random extra spaces inserting themselves into copy-and-pasted URLs? It actually happens to me quite a bit...
any other shoe-house my family can move in... we are great neighbours
nice chop!
good
Really nice manipulation, very cute!
First image was better IMO.
very nice.
Fabulous work, author. Great find on the Victorian boots, and 'painted lady'. I like that you warped the porch pieces, it adds to the whimsy.
Magical

Thanks to laura-s and leocub for the sources. (5 years and 3275 days ago)
Good idea, just add some shadows on the laces and maybe a metal ring around the holes (a small metal colored ring will do and use blending modes > bevel to give it a round edge)
Thanks for the suggestions!!! Is it better now?
author..when using an outside source, I think it would be beneficial to use BOTH shoes and make the laces anti symmetric ( don't get me wrong, the resulting image is quite nice, but I think if you paid for the two images it seems a shame not to use Both of them.. that's if you were aiming for realism.. if you were aiming for simple surrealism.. great job.. but if you used BOTH shoes.. I think you would get a much more Powerful image.. but that's IMHO.. good luck
EDIT:.. OH YEAH!!!.. makes it so much more interesting.. to me anyway..LOL (I get lazy alot too LOL.. ).. great job!
Really unique and cool idea.
Drivenslush, you are right and I was too lazy Thank you very much for the advice! I tried to make it like you said and it definitely is better! I hope you like it more now and I am looking forward to your comments (not only his/her).
Now what a great shoe............... that would save me so much time lol
Super cool intelligent work author...well done
WOW! Excellent and fun image. Beautiful work on the blending ... so real and surreal all at the same time! Definitely a fav!

author.. for an entry like this ... you really need to enter a High Res piece so we can see the work.. right now it's very blurry and we can't see the work.. good luck though.. I like the Idea you have taken...
DrivenSluch -
Apparently I didn't make the original a large enough file to be saved as a high-res image. Something I keep forgetting to do.
I will put a sbs together to show what I did soon...
Very clever, love your idea! Well done.
Thanks Mad
Too dark at the bottom, but a very creative entry.

good luck author... fun image
little old lady who lived in an army boot
Author, in future please add the first 10 sources in the source boxes so they are hotlinked, any extra sources may be added in your description, in this case there would only be three. It is not necessary to add the links to peoples profiles and in fact it makes it very confusing.
Sorry for this Mods, this happened first time to me. I did not had time to add links to the boxes because i there is a little time to upload an entry. I tried to upload entry few time but each single time connection was reset. So for lack of time i had to do at this way. Sorry for the problems that i maybe cause. Thanks for understanding.
Good looking pic. Great work.
