I used water splash brushes that i downloaded long time ago... see SBS (5 years and 2799 days ago)
This is AWESOME !
What is the Water Elemental? Please check my WIP section (SBS) to find out more about that creature.
Techniques I've been used are matte painting inside Photoshop, clipping masks, brush with custom brushes (links), puppet warp, also brush inside SAI, and finally adjustments layers with some filters (blur, motion blur, gaussian blur) back into Photoshop.
Hope you like my creation, lots of great entries, I'm afraid I'm no match with the others.

I decided to put this guy somewhere more dynamic and colorful! Hope you like it :) (5 years and 2897 days ago)
Instant Fav!!..
Perfect lighting...
and love the dramatic effect
Looks very nice
Awesome Image ... Great work!
Good composition and very successful work, luck
I like your idea and work here.
The end result looks good.
I have my doubts about the vignetting, for me this doesnt add to the image. It gives me the feeling that the animal is beeing squished, instead of making it stand out. But that is a personal prefference.
Awesome, well done
Congrats Rob lovely work
Great image. Congrats!

distortion and liquify filter for the bird, difference clouds and zigzag distortion for the water and some masking and varying blend modes (5 years and 3003 days ago)
Very nice execution and idea! I like it
Very good, try making the bird slightly transparent in some sections to make it even more realistic GL

This took pretty much all weekend. A LOT of hours, but the further I got into it the more I was liking it, so I just kept going and going! Finding new places that I thought there needed to be feathers and so on. It was a ton of fun to make, hope you all enjoy it :) (5 years and 3097 days ago)
ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh............woow.......... always wanted a "Parrosus", where can I get one?
Harry Potter will be red-eye when I ride a Parrosus
nice colors, great blending.... almost PERFECT!!! (only feel that it the mane, tail and wings were more flowing... like hair, but this is only my personal preference)
Stunning ... excellent work, wonderful creation! If I could I would fav it 2 or 3 times!
OH THANKS Glad you guys like it so much!
I do see where you are coming from aheman, but I really wanted to stick with the totally feather approach. Thanks for your input though, much appreciated
Beautiful creation, wonderful color!! Well worth the effort you put into it! The revise makes it even better!
Wonderfully thought out and done.. AWESOME!!!
Excellent image!
Wonderful colours,nice reflection,it's a fantastic creation !
nice nice
nice color combination!
this looks like a cool animal
)
NICE... WELL DONE but agreed with aheman. The flowing problems because there's a minor shadows in my opinion.
And this is just my input, Author: the Rim Lights should never be 100% white. Photographers will know about this, even if it's directly hit from the sun, there will be a little yellowish or even reddish for the rim lights.
Still, top notch blending, Author! High votes! Good Luck!
Beautiful composition, nice colors and wonderful creation.
Very nice work!!
Magnifique !
Thanks everyone!!!!
Hayato, thanks that was a good call, I updated the background so the light has more of an orangey glow, and is not so pristinely white.
