I like the expresion, he looks like one of my cats ( he's cross-eyed too)!!
(You could change some of the weeds so they wouldn't be so symmetrical, but that is my opinion...)

I think the statue being symmetrical is fine but the background would probably look better if it was asymmetrical. I also think the ball should have shadow underneath and behind it to match the lighting. Nice idea and I do like the little heads on a pole, looks like Conan's baby rattle.

Good colorizing on the head, although the figure kinda dies against the background...maybe create depth of field by blurring & slightly desaturating the background? Just a suggestion.
