Nice idea, but the water reflection is too clear and rigid. It looks more like a mirror than water.
I used vm natural for water reflection link in source box.
Spec Thanks to Reap Revenge a PXLEyes Member for use of his swan picture found in member stock on this site. (5 years and 3504 days ago)

Hey Thanks. Your right I changed it. How's This!
I think gamemastertips is quite right. The reflection still looks too uniform and mechanical.
No, but I think it may be much better now. However, the frontmost section of the water looks quite odd...like it may have been distored a tad much. I'd also suggest making the water a bit murky, possibly by making a slightly transparent overlay blend of the original water texture. Not sure how this would look, but you could give it a try.
EDIT: I'd go with what blindscientist is saying.
The ripples are cool, but usually water ripples in response to motion of an object in the water - in this case the swans. The ripples shown tend to suggest that the motion might be coming from something else in the water somewhere out of the frame (perhaps a person or boat causing the waves). My only suggestion would be to smooth the ripples out a bit (soften them), and perhaps add small "ring" ripples emanating from each swan that is moving. Just a thought. Good luck!
My only suggestion would be to find a higher resolution source picture. When in full view you can really tell the source image is pixilated.

Wow! A challenging contest! Thanks to mqtrf at pxleyes.com for the walkway photo; Thanks to the following at morguefile.com; wax150 for the dog; clarita for the cat; and to kconnors for the Grand Canyon source photo. (5 years and 3504 days ago)
Good idea but animals need to be blended a little better.
why the animals...? IMO, they detract the quality of your image since they seem to be placed there randomly :-S
The animals are obviously on top of the artwork with shadows to show that they are actually on a flat surface . They are not randomly placed, rather each is partially on the artwork, and partially on the walkway.
nicely done
The animals are a great idea because they show that it is a 2D image. You would see this a lot in photographs of Mr. Mueller's work.
Very nicely done, I love the results you ended up with. Good Luck!!

very strange choice, totally different approach to the theme...good luck author
quite an illusion
great job!
Cars will sink! Oops... It's just an illusion!
Nice, except I don't think one would paint an above-ground pool on a sidewalk/roadway/parking lot unless one knew photographers would crop their pics as you did here (no bottom borders visible) -- but if this instead were the uncropped view so we could see where illusion meets reality, then this would be a more compelling illustration of the theme IMO.
Hey...... am i dreaming..............
I'm not quite sure what Danlundberg means. I have an idea. But all of those street illusions only work from one perspective. And then they are photographed from that optimal perspective. So if it only works from the way this is photographed, it still makes sense.

all the time is time for wine :) (5 years and 3505 days ago)
The source has a very narrow ellipse that is the liquid's surface which you forgot to convert to wine. I think a flatter rim ellipse would improve the perspective (go better with the barely curved liquid-surface line). The glare on the front is on the exterior surface of the glass so it should also be in front of the wine (no color change). The second "its" should be "it's" (needs an apostrophe).
Best of Luck
