The magic of the written word - created by Lelaina

The magic of the written word

As I was a child, I was so fascinated about books. It was always a miracle for me, that whole worlds existed on a few pages of paper. Worlds, that made me dream and worlds, that formed my imagination.
And today I can't even think about living without books, cause they still abduct me in magical worlds.
So it is probably no coincidence, that the source made me think of books and the written word itself ;)
I just wanted to show a little magical place and my love to the written word :)

Very nice use of source, the reflection looks a little too saturated, so maybe pull the colours back a little bit, other than that.. great job!!

Very nice work. I think the bright blue vignette is detracting from your final result. Anyone else agree?

avatar hereisanoop

awesome...

avatar sparklen
sparklen says:

rcscruff is onto something.........vignette is a bit strong. Try fading gently from one color to the other. That wil help focus the eye into the center of your work. I love the colors used....good luck.

Much like the Tower of Pisa this structure's most obvious defect is part of it's charm.

Thanks to Mymy for the moon stock. Also I included a link to several "space type" tutorials. I remember reading a few of these before I ever attempted my own background. I can't say that I followed any particular exactly, but I think I may have used an amalgam of several of them. I hope you enjoy. And as always, constructive comments welcome. I really like your idea! And you did a good job, but maybe you can have a look at the white top of the tower. In the high res it looks like you forgot to erase a little part at the right side of the white thing And the lens flare looks like there is a rectangle around it?!? Maybe you can try to fix that, too Good luck!

avatar ponti55
ponti55 says:

Great image.. the visuals are striking, you did a great job here. Maybe add a bit of light shining on the towers, but this looks great! Good luck!!

author says:

Lelaina, Thanks much for the comment. I fixed the top of the towers, and I tried to soften the edge of the lens flare. Ponti55, thought about light on the towers, but they caught the moon. So the light source is behind the foremost towers?

Lelaina says:

You're welcome It looks a lot better now! Good luck again

this just doesn't look that good.. while liquifying, did you use twirl? her back is fine, but the chest area and the face.. not so much

avatar Tuckinator

hahah love the idea! but i would make the lines in the hood of the truck pointing straight (right now they are pointing to the diagnol right down) try the warp tool or liquify
