Thanks to Burnt in Effigy gallery of Flickr by the squirrel 3 (5 years and 3847 days ago)
1.copied the tree thrice and then arranged it and merged
2.used free transform >wrap
3. used the stock image of hand and use it as mask
4.then added some details with brush and used layer style
5.then for background i added the texture (thanks to grunge textures by `Princess-of-Shadows) and overlay it on new layer with background colour (5 years and 3848 days ago)
Nice idea, but imo I think you can make the wood look more like parts of the hand. Right now the wood still looks quite much like it's a straight texture without a real interaction between the shape of a thumb or wrist and how the wood would look like. Try to look more for thé perfect wood parts to make a thumb or finger, show more that the hands are really wooden (for example by making the edges of the hands more rough or just use the tree's edges, would be the easiest) and warp a bit more around the wrists to get a more round effect. Good luck!
i like this image a lot it could use some shading though i love it a lot!

Used a picture of an owl from cg-textures to make the owl and a few brushes of the moon an an African brush tree.
Chopped out alot of key pcs. Will add in a sbs to show. (5 years and 3848 days ago)
great entry!
Nice!! It looks great!!
Nice image....The moon would be giving of some ambient light maybe you could add this to the tree & owl...
I like how you left some of the detail from source image in the wing...have to agree with warlock, some ambient lighting and possibly some very soft glow would really set this piece off. Good image though
Congrats for your second place!
Congratulations for 2nd

Create with Bryce & 3D Max, no extern sources. (5 years and 3852 days ago)
great idea
hahaha i think that it will be like that but with to guards ... idea : put it in a museaum with guards and more
cool odea yes... but you need more work on the image
he looks so lonely
are those standard models or did you build your own?
Thanks for comments. Eladine, step 1-3 show haw i create barbed wire in 3d max, step 4 is the file transphere in Bryce,5-6 is the ground texture, 8 is a short intro in Tree Lab and 9 is about sky colours. For short, no, I didnt use presets. If you want to see more details pls refere to a specific point (wire, ground, tree, sky) and i'll make more detailed steps on this point. For me is allways a delight to show what 3D work is.
thnx, for some reason i didnt see a step by step when i looked at this first maybe because when you click on a image from the panel to the right they dont show there... i have noticed that before o.o; anyhow thnx for pointing out do you import the barbwiremodel into bryce or can you render the bryce scene in 3ds max ? i have never combined them so o.o;
This is a 'Photoshop Contest'. You didn't use Photoshop at all.
