In case anyone wonders,the link for source 2: Skin shows a flickr page with a copyright. That image can't be copyrighted by the flickr author since he doesn't own it and he does mention it's free to use. It is available on several sites including this one:

An homage to SciFi movies from the 50's & 60's (5 years and 1423 days ago)
I would ditch the tv and the text in favor of more detail and clarity. remember show dont tell.
Kind of loses the entire point of the piece IMO then...also, given that this is the opening credit to a movie, text is, in this case, appropriate
I think it looks nice. Like an old 50's sci-fi on an old TV
I like the nostalgic approach, works well IMO!
I want a bag of Popcorn... and kool-aid (we were poor) LOL It's very cute (I don't know how you resisted not including the wonderful wooden legs of the original photo of the TV, they are terrific, may want to consider including them just to give this a bit of a boost... (but that's just me) Simple just isn't me LOL. Very good work... I think I can even hear the speaker 
With the announcer guy with the deep, overly serious voice saying THE DAY...THEY...ATTACKED! LOL....good, mission accomplished. That's just what I was going for

which tutorial is this -- link to be posted "Don't forget to mention the name of the tutorial you used and give the URL for the tutorial."
One thing that may improve this chop -- the windows in the foregorund car should be adjusted to show the background car through them -- playing with the opacity of thw widows or a completly new set of window glass??

Those lightning brushes aren't working. Try making your own lightning.
I tried and they didn't turn out looking any better than the lightning brushes so I used photos. I put them in the sources list.
I think it's better now.
