A long time ago I learned how to paint using oil on canvas. Now, I don't know if I can do it now...

• There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
The Surrealism Project was inspired by the Ecclesiastes from the Bible, the Tree of Life is like a Tree of Wisdom and Knowledge. It represents God's power over the kingdoms of humans (city under the gear that look like a chunk of mountains) and no man nor technologies (gears) can stand against the nature's keepers; against the time itself.

you got the ticket to next round... good job buddy
Good job again, knew it was you
Wow..nice!..love this piece of art..GL author
• Thanks for the faves and comments, everyone. Glad you like it. Still need a lot of improvements IMHO, my entry was a last 'rush' hour before the deadline. I couldn't put ALL my imaginations into that piece.
@ Erikuri, thanks for sharing your thoughts, I do painting with oils, acrylics and pastels. But nowadays, it's not qualified with the industries' standard workflows. We need digital painters, matte painters who could done this kind of art in hours or quickly without delays.
• P.S : to tell you the truth, I'm doing this surreal entry within my work on office time. Or else it's couldn't be here to display... =(
Beautiful work again. It brings me memories of my oil, acrylic, watercolor painting days. Nice combination of the green. yellow and blue colors. Good luck my friend.
I have no words...
Congrats with a spot in the next round
Congratulations! Good luck on the next round!
Congrats!!
Congrats, but still believe the clouds were brushes.
• Thanks for the nice comments and votes.
@ solkee: thanks to you too, but I sent you (or the other mods) the proven clouds sbs, rite? = )
• Next time I just use the photos and manipulate it just like the others so you could probably believe it wasn't a brush after all. Peace and cheers.
@ solkee: Im sorry if I brag in.
why are you underestimate another people skill? if someone can REALLY make the cloud as realistic as the brushes, they don't deserve the rights to be BELIEVED?
just open CGHUB and see a lot of great artist drawing cloud in a realistic result.

I wonder if those entries above used the cloud brush instead of painting or make it by himself?!
wow amazing digital painting!! congrats my friend!
HexaNode, I don't underestimate anybody's skills. Also the images at cghub.com are not being questioned here as they have nothing to do with this site. I voiced my opinion as a member of the site in the comments as I am allowed to do and then I messaged the author in private. If the author is so concerned about my comment we can certainly make it quite public, but I doubt that is what the author would like.

Well done. For some reason the body looks placed a bit too behind or the ground in front is a bit off with the body. Maybe if you place the body more to the front or crop the lower part in the image, the perspective from the different sources will fit better. Good luck!
Thanks for Your comments and votes.

What is the Water Elemental? Please check my WIP section (SBS) to find out more about that creature.
Techniques I've been used are matte painting inside Photoshop, clipping masks, brush with custom brushes (links), puppet warp, also brush inside SAI, and finally adjustments layers with some filters (blur, motion blur, gaussian blur) back into Photoshop.
Hope you like my creation, lots of great entries, I'm afraid I'm no match with the others.
