It looks a bit floaty at the moment, a bit of shadow on the ground and a few pieces of grass showing infront of the swan would help give it the impression of sitting on the ground.

why not putting it on the water..i think that would be better..what do u think?

Thanks Ray, I fixed it. I never thought of that, but from now on I'll try to blend things into the pic. Wrock, mmmmm nah, I thought about placement and if it was on water it would sink. You probabley have more imagination than me.

The swan still has a lightly blueish tone. I suggest to take a look to this:

It is a very useful tool and may help. The tone is the only flaw I see here

The paper swan is lit from the opposite side of the real one (look at the shadow beneath the real swan's neck).

actually mossyB, i can see every single detail on my screen..i even brightened it up a little before submitting it..so maybe its your monitor..nobody else is having a problem..but if a few more people have a problem with it i'll gladly brighten it up some more..thanks for the comments guys!

Funny Mossy, most of your comments to people are "It's too dark". Suggestion: Throw out the CRT and try LCD.

I agree with Christy, a darker umbrella, with the color matching the dress would be still more beautiful.

Her hair is too fluffy for being in a downpour like that...

Why not put her umbrella above her head? It would make the dry hair seem more realistic. However, it's a great idea and I like the difference with the red tones and the grayscale so good luck!

@ korporaalkaaas: Shadow where? There's nothing behind her to cast a shadow on. Her hands are in front of her ears, and the arrow is through the ears, not behind her.

The thing is many of us might have the impression of "something's wrong with this pic", and that's cause in real life you can't have an arrow through&through without being dead & having brain/blood spatter on the other side. But there's no need for that realism here, it would ruin everything

Greymval, thank you so much...it seems that people who try to take an image like this literally just don't get the joke. (sigh)

Her elbows look a bit awkward to me. The shadows are a bit too grey and don't match the shadows around the rest of the body (such as the underarms). I know it's too late now, but if you wanted to just for the heck of it, you could try experimenting with blend modes such as soft light or overlay at a lower opacity.

I agree with Matteo about the shadowing under the elbows, I think you could burn slightly the skin. But idea is very nice, and the fine humor is a must here! GL.
