This photo feels like a predatory prey scenario...a happy snappy shot.
(5 years and 421 days ago)I agree with skyangel and also would like to add that it is a shame we cannot see the face of grandma, but the story is there.
(5 years and 421 days ago)The photo is OK but you need to straighten it. It's leaning too much to the right.
(5 years and 422 days ago)I feel less would have been more with this shot. I am not bothered by the negative space for it defines the grandmother or the other half of the image. However, the plantar the green wooden gate, detract, so when I say less is more had they been out , to me the image would have appeared stronger and less cluttered, negative space nothwithstanding.
(5 years and 651 days ago)You are totally right. Rules are there to be broken, to our great satisfaction as long as we are not penalised...
(5 years and 652 days ago)However, if I look at your picture I see two! One on the left with a lot of action... full of story telling. And another one on the right side where nothing happens... No story, nothing... Could this be interesting??? To you? What if you change your point of view and try to see it through some other's eyes... Does it stand up???
In photography when you come to broke the rules the only penalty you get is to be not recognized. It hurts, but you learn to what extent the rules are breakable...
I could not really explain why, but I feel attracted by this image, and into it, because of this void space. I want to fill this void and look closer. This might not be academic, only a feeling I get. Sometimes the rules are made to be broken
(5 years and 652 days ago)Apart of rule of thirds it should be a balance in the image. Here the view is mostly deviated from your subject by the said 'empty space'... You could have this in the so called minimalism when the subject is so small and the empty space does not disturb the subject.
(5 years and 652 days ago)Lovely black, blue, orange-red colour combination and great balance
(5 years and 653 days ago)Interesting idea but too much empty space on the right
(5 years and 654 days ago)As luck would have it
(5 years and 663 days ago)The question is: how could such a big bullet come out of such a small cannon?
(5 years and 663 days ago)ha ha ha ha, cool set up, ingenious and I like it.
(5 years and 665 days ago)I found interesting informations about it, whith other nice pics:

Very intriguing indeed, is it a work of art? are these numbers years? ...mysterious mystery !!!
(5 years and 677 days ago)The background is more industrial area than rural...
(5 years and 677 days ago)Very intriguing photo! What is it? Where is it? Does somebody live up there? What are all these numbers???
(5 years and 678 days ago)Yes it does help you grow and even though you might not agree,it alls a learning curve.
(5 years and 687 days ago)I sure hope more members offer suggestions like this, that way we can all get better at our craft. I know "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and some are hesitant to give reviews, but every little bit helps....and the receiver doesn't always have to agree with the reviewer.
(5 years and 687 days ago)I also think it needs a bit more exposure and also think there is almost 2 photos here, think it would have been better to concerntrate on the cyclist more, you could cut this in two to get 2 different perspectives while still getting the stall in either shot.
(5 years and 688 days ago)Oh that old woman is scary looking, hope I don't look like that when I get older...ewwww. I think your photo could use more exposure to brighten it somewhat. The cyclist draws on our attention....a rather generous derriere. Nice photo just needs some sparkle.
(5 years and 688 days ago)Rock solid image full of eye catching patterns that delight. Your contrast is excellent as is the expsure giving good detail. Nice one this.
(5 years and 688 days ago)Love the colours and brightness of this image. Lots of different textures and shapes. I like it a lot.
(5 years and 688 days ago)Not sure what the focus of this shot is. Markets are notoriously difficult to capture - too often they just look too busy and lack a focus. This shot has lots of detail but no focus.
(5 years and 688 days ago)I suppose it is encrypted in the image and then extracted using software ??
(5 years and 2187 days ago)How do they know the data? Especially if the original has been edited?
(5 years and 2188 days ago)Is this "auto add feature" referring to the camera data below entry ?? (iso, exposure, etc.) Never heard of that term before.
(5 years and 2188 days ago)Post a screenshot of the EXIF data in the SBS to show your shot was made in 2013.
(5 years and 2190 days ago)Thanks BOB, I just saw your post, great addition.
(5 years and 2190 days ago)With the auto-add feature I mean Vibeke!
(5 years and 2190 days ago)NOT, other entries actually followed the them and did a screen shot of their EXIF data
(5 years and 2190 days ago)First entry with EXIF data!
(5 years and 2190 days ago)I agree I will hold my vote as well
(5 years and 2223 days ago)I hold my vote
(5 years and 2223 days ago)Nice idea, good DOF and light, but nothing is quite in focus, possibly due to camera shake. If you can, re-shoot using a tripod and crop closer.
(5 years and 2224 days ago)Love your concept and its message but, the shadowing creates a lack of sharpness that gives the image a poor quality (IMHO).
