I agree with Jerostone. For this contest (with those rules) the bird might have been shot in another spot with another background, which is in conflict with what is written in the contest rules.

You should take care of wath is necessary and what is not on a picture.
Here, the tree in front of the rock is really disturbing, as the little girl on the left wich catches the attention instead of keeping it on the subject : the rock.

It's must be well done, because I don't see what is camoufled here ... ^_^

I understand ! It's a panoramic ! The guy with yellow shoes on the left is a bit "distorted". You should crop it out and enlarge a little bit the whole picture verticaly.

"Take a photograph of something being built" ... Even if the picture is nice, IMHO, you're out of theme, no ... ? They more destruct than build here.

I think you should have framed it differently. Cut the green area above and let more space above the fire to see it entirely and to let it breathe.

With a little flash blow (fill in) you would have reduce the dark shadow and recover details on the face. Because here it's very dark.

You should not center you subject like that. Try to use the rule of third for instance.

My opinion is that the focus should have been done on the foreground instead of the background. Due to the small DOF you used, We have here the sensation that everything is out of focus.

I understand author, but ask you a question (and I think that other people here should think about it, and not only for this particular contest) : Are you in a "Special Sign-contest website" or in a "Photography-contest website" ? (I've seen your portfolio ... you're able to do so much better than this !!!)

I don't want to offense you author but, what do you expect by posting that kind of picture in a "photography contest" ? The quality is so poor that we can't even see a detail. I'm sure you have something better to upload, no ?

I like it, even if I would have prefer with better sharpness on what the subject is : the kitchen tool.
