Great idea, but really look at the colors of the edges on the original pic...the edges of the tree form wouldn't be whitish. Also, the light source on the letter box in the source pic is opposite the one you've created. Look at the original shadows...

Color values of foreground & background are too similar...do something to create depth.

Step 9 is better...there would be more light on the door from outside...the wall would be darker than the door. Otherwise good work.

You added several objects to the table top...only one has a reflection.

I believe the smudge brush suggestion was to make the lower part of the reflection match the HORIZONTAL ripples in the water...

Girl is too small, light is from the right, solighthouse should be flipped to match...
