Congrats and Happy New Year!
(5 years and 1454 days ago)Don't get the amputated legs, but I like the mood.
(5 years and 1455 days ago)Author, the links are bad...I suspect the sources are not useable. Please see: http://www.pxleyes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5644&p=61826#p61826
(5 years and 1456 days ago)Please read http://www.pxleyes.com/guidelines/photoshop/
(5 years and 1456 days ago)You need to post links for your source images.
I'd intensify the red on the hat, otherwise pretty nice!
(5 years and 1459 days ago)Just using filters on the image isn't enough. From the photoshop contest rules: "In a source contest it's mandatory to use the provided source image in your entry. Not only use it, but also manipulate it in some way. Of course you can also combine it with other external source images."
(5 years and 1460 days ago)Please read the rules and guidelines found here: http://www.pxleyes.com/guidelines/
As the wall in the source photo is in focus, it wouldn't be blurred out in this image as well.
(5 years and 1461 days ago)Good work. I see a depth issue...I think if you removed the flames that overlap the body of the wagon, it would look more like the burning door was in front of it and increase the feeling of depth. Effective image, though.
(5 years and 1461 days ago)Author, nothing against the Christmas themed font, it's the transparent areas that make it die against the background colors.
(5 years and 1466 days ago)EDIT: Font works better, just move it up & center it.
Really nice painting but the font could be better. IMO it would look better if placed higher in the sky, including 'Christmas'. There's room, and it could improve the composition.
(5 years and 1466 days ago)Much improved. GL author!
(5 years and 1467 days ago)Good work, congrats!
(5 years and 1468 days ago)A few suggestions: try to color match the trunks to the spiders, lighten the shadows, and remove some of the light edges on the leg selections . With a few tweaks this could be a great image.
(5 years and 1468 days ago)The clouds are too opaque. The skin tones & light sources are different on the arms. I'd recommend just keeping the one in front and the image would be less confusing. Otherwise this is a good effort.
(5 years and 1468 days ago)Good work.
(5 years and 1471 days ago)Light is from above, so the deer's head wouldn't have a shadow on the wall. See shadows of frames. (Same for the rifle).
(5 years and 1471 days ago)Looks great! The phone itself could use a shadow with same light source as cord. *(light on table is from left). PS: Very good thinking, author...made me chuckle.
(5 years and 1472 days ago)Nicely done.
(5 years and 1472 days ago)You'll get extra points for humor if you'll just post links to your sources, and post your own photos uncut in a step-by-step guide. (SBS) Just go to My Entries.Make SBS.
(5 years and 1473 days ago)Please see: http://www.pxleyes.com/blog/2009/06/how-and-where-to-find-legal-source-images/ and http://www.pxleyes.com/guidelines/photoshop/
Author, when you upload your image, check the SET SOURCES box and enter your links & information there.
(5 years and 1473 days ago)Author, you're placing source links in the area used for text. Use the other box.

(5 years and 1474 days ago)Interesting idea, but try to clean up the selection of the spider. There are a lot of jagged edges. Sometimes it's better to use the pen tool or lasso tool than the magic wand tool.
(5 years and 1474 days ago)Congrats for your first shot!
(5 years and 1474 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1474 days ago)Good blend.
(5 years and 1474 days ago)Good idea. The statue needs a shadow on the rocks corresponding to the light source.
(5 years and 1474 days ago)Good to see you back, author!
(5 years and 1477 days ago)Good advice above, you don't want a shadow between the bust & the surface it's on...and his right edge (our left) is pretty blurry.
(5 years and 1477 days ago)Interesting use of the source. Welcome back!
(5 years and 1477 days ago)Well thought out & good shadow on the khudu.
(5 years and 1479 days ago)Good composition, but too filter heavy for my taste.
(5 years and 1479 days ago)Great blending & lighting, really fits the mood of the painting. Well done!
(5 years and 1480 days ago)Looks good...nice mood & lighting.
(5 years and 1480 days ago)Maybe make her a bit larger...what do you think?
(5 years and 1480 days ago)Congrats, Rein!
(5 years and 1482 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1482 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1482 days ago)Look at the shadows of the people in the background to determine your light source. (From our left) Duplicate the carriage on a new layer, fill the image with black, lower opacity and then distort/skew the shadow. Then blur & adjust opacity.
(5 years and 1485 days ago)These should help: http://planetphotoshop.com/cast-shadows-vs-drop-shadows.html

Pretty realistic. You might want to fix the reversed lettering on the background tank.
(5 years and 1485 days ago)The edges look fine to me, and the lack of shadow definitely improves the illusion. I'd still like to see more transparency, but that's up to you. Over all, a fine job.
(5 years and 1487 days ago)Well done! (But note to author:nobody wants to see Kardashians if they can help it).
(5 years and 1488 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1489 days ago)Interesting idea. I might have made the carriage just a bit more transparent, but it works. On the SBS, possibly some written explanation would help. GL author.
(5 years and 1489 days ago)(On second look, lightening or even eliminating the shadow could help the illusion, but that would be a LOT of work!)
Nice image! Would be good to see how the background was made.
(5 years and 1495 days ago)CBR: Chopped Beyond Recognition
(5 years and 1495 days ago)Great use of a difficult source, and thorough SBS. GL author!
(5 years and 1496 days ago)Looks good! (And I don't have to see any of those dopey figures...)
(5 years and 1498 days ago)Sweet.
