Try to adjust the color to your source pic.

You could have extended the arms downward to go behind the rock. (You still can...). I don't think they had short sleeved armor back in the day.
Also, the glow around the sword should be different than the glow around the armor to help it pop.

Try warping the wood grain to conform to the contours of the armor. Also, reducing the highlights would help it appear wooden.

This is great. I'd love it more without the blur on the face.
It's not to late to make a SBS, which will get you a higher vote & let other members learn something.

Just commenting on the image itself: The belt of icicles is too wide, it needs to shrink to the circumference of the egg shape. The shadows seem too dark. The blue hue on the dome seems too artificial...would be better if it were toned down to seem more naturally transparent, and the highlight on the left side should go, since the light source is from the right. Everything else works pretty well.

The car image is nicely done, and realistic. The rest is flat & cartoony, and IMO doesn't fit. Still, good work here.

Should have used the pen or lasso to cut him out more precisely. As for the upper & lower halves, I'm sure you can figure something out.

Not sure how those plants were painted, from the SBS, but not a bad image.

Author, you only whited out his lower half, the upper half is all grey. I can't figure out how or why you did that. I'd like to help but I'm kinda clueless here. Also about why his edges are so smooth.

Author, I hate to repeat myself, but if you convert your image to CMYK and click off the blue (cyan) channel, you'll see a dramatic difference.

I'm assuming you know the Cyan channel shows the blues. Forget photoshop, just looking at this image can tell you there's a lot of blue there.

Motion effect should be on the entire object, (wings too) not just one part.. Interesting use of source.

A few observations: How have you used source 1? The arm with the orb should be darker to blend with the figure. A red tint isn't the best choice for a snow scene...blue would probably be better. Also, an adjustment layer to improve the contrast might work. GL.

Re: My comment. In the source pic there's no snow falling. It's a good photo. Author, your addition of the "twins" works for me, but they could just as easily be standing there after the snow, so you wouldn't have to deal with the suckiness of the snow brushes, especially since premade brushes have become an issue in the forum of late. Just saying, ya know?

Prefab brushes reek of laziness IMHO, but it's a tasteful image.

Folds on dress don't match angles of the steps. Ghostly figure in background detracts from overall image.

Great idea! A bit more highlight on the skin where the wire is attached would match the rest of the skin highlights. GL.
