Very cool shot. I think I might crop a bit off the top and the right. This would decenter the roots more, keep the grass at the bottom, but eliminate the tree at the right.

I've had that happen to me many times, this is why when I'm on the shoot I take lots and lots of picture, then maybe I'll get three I like. = )

These are definitely some awesome roots. The only thing is that the camera is focused on the rocks, so the roots look slightly out of focus.

Very clean work! The eyes were blended really well, and i like the idea. Erikuri also makes a good suggestion, the brain suckers may look a bit creepier if they were looking in different directions.

Neet idea is some shadow problems. as far as I am seeing most of the guys head should be in the shadow of the sucker thing, also would remove the glare off the right side of his head (his right that is). last thing I see is the girls right hand and arm has no shadows looks off. would all fit much better if that was fixed..

Oh I get it... the perspective is the propeller coming out of the side of the chest on the unseen side, though I think it would be better coming out of the top of hump, but that's just me.. never really cared for accuracy.. just the idea.. (the abrupt flatness of the hooves is peculiar.. but it's your vision author, Good Luck

a few more suggestions for improvements
as for the camel, the masking appears choppy, take a good look to the underside, and all of the legs for this, also overall the edges could use some clean up. i would also look for images that better match in resolution. the light on the camel does not match the blades at all, also as it is now the blades seem to be behind the camel, if you fix these things it will be

Author what i meant on the decal is maybe duplicate it, set to overlay,
then back off opacity on the under layer a bit.
But you did very well with the vapors so it is looking much better
