It's always a pleasure to see your work! You don't post much but when you do..............SPEECHLESS!
(5 years and 3222 days ago)It would be funny if he was peeing on the wall!
(5 years and 3223 days ago)If it was up to me I would scrap the background and use the original background of the dog. I would expand the background a bit horizontally and finish the base of the hydrant and place it in the background. Making sure to match the depth of field to the surrounding area where the hydrant is placed. Good luck!
(5 years and 3224 days ago)I respect the effect you were trying to achieve, but rather see step five as the finished entry. I would just create a new layer, fill it with black, set the blend mode to color dodge, and then with a soft white 5% opacity brush paint where you want light. Painting over brighter areas with more brush strokes. Then I would create a new layer fill it with a brown color and set the layer blend mode to color and set the opacity of the layer around 25%. This will give you a more dramatic scene. good luck!
(5 years and 3224 days ago)Really nice lighting, shading, and composition! Very clean image, good luck!
(5 years and 3262 days ago)Skin usually doesn't have just one color in it. I would suggest making several hue/saturation adjustment layers and painting in the face with multiple layers. After you have masked the adjustment layers you can then edit the layer for the right color.....Another option is to open a similar image of a person and just sample the colors on the face and then paint them on a new layer set to color above your image. afterwards you can just adjust the hue/saturation of the layer. Good luck! Here is a tutorial I wrote, hope it will help you.
(5 years and 3279 days ago)http://www.pxleyes.com/tutorial/photoshop/2239/Add-Ultra-Realistic-Colors-to-Any-Gray-Scale-Photo.html
Interesting! Only nitpick would be the brightness of the second light.
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Nice source find!
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Nice job with this one. Only suggestion would be to add a lens blur with an alpha mask to match the depth of field of the original drill bit source. Good luck!
(5 years and 3282 days ago)Nice job blurring the bits. I think if you colorized the face it would give you more contrast against the drill bits. Right now the bits get a little lost with the background because they're the same color. Good luck!
(5 years and 3282 days ago)Nice entry author. Only nitpicks would be the masking on his left chain arm and the beak of the head. Other than that great job. Good luck!
(5 years and 3287 days ago)Edit: much better!
I would've liked to see a different method of highlights and shadows. The burn method you've used has added extra saturation in darker areas. When shading I almost always use a black brush set to 5% opacity. This guarantees shaded regions don't gain unnatural saturation. I also think the eye could use some more light. Perhaps over dodging it will create a more realistic light. Also the other eye needs more shading under it. Good luck author!
(5 years and 3287 days ago)This is awesome! The details, composition, depth, color, make this a wow entry.
(5 years and 3296 days ago)Really nice one! I was waiting for your entry, I know you always wait until the last minute. It was well worth the wait.
(5 years and 3298 days ago)Really nicely done! Good luck!
(5 years and 3298 days ago)How did I miss this one! Great job!
(5 years and 3299 days ago)I would like to give you a nice critique but I'm not sure what it is and there is no high res to see any details. What's "boom boom robo da"
(5 years and 3300 days ago)Perhaps if you added a description to your work to explain what your trying to accomplish? Maybe it's one of those things that once you know its like OOOHHHHH!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)My only suggestion would be to pay more attention to fine details. Some of the things you pasted are now partially overlapping something else behind it. Little details like this will drastically change the overall look of your work. Overall it's a nice first entry, and welcome to pxleyes. Good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)I think you did a really good job with the train and the mountain. Minor nitpick is the track looks like it's floating and looks like it is traveling into the mountain with no opening. I think it would look better if you expanded the mountain a bit and painted a small opening. Good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)Really nice use of source! Good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)Really nicely done! I see a face there, maybe some glowing eyes to go with it? Up to you, good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)I really like the composition and perspective on this. Some of your edges could benefit from some blur to match the depth of field. Good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)A lot of nice details! Good luck!
(5 years and 3300 days ago)The highlights and shadows really make this brilliant!
(5 years and 3301 days ago)Some of the perspective is a bit off, but a nice entry overall. Good luck!
(5 years and 3306 days ago)I would've liked to see a sharper line where the dragon meets the car. But having said that this is a really nice source find and really nice execution. I know the reflection isn't supposed to be there but it looks damn good there now.
(5 years and 3306 days ago)I really like this one and hope there is an sbs to come. I would hate for this to get disqualified. Good luck!
(5 years and 3306 days ago)Really nicely done! The lighting, color and details pull it all together. Good luck!
(5 years and 3306 days ago)I really like this one! It would be even better if the background had a bit more contrast though. Good luck!
(5 years and 3306 days ago)Really nicely done author! Good luck!
(5 years and 3309 days ago)Perhaps a gradient transparency mask, so it looks like the blur fades more towards the shark. Good luck!
(5 years and 3309 days ago)I think the blur could benefit from a little curve. Right now it looks like their in space with no gravity. Good luck!
(5 years and 3309 days ago)This must have been disqualified the first time around. I liked it then and I like it now. Really well done. One nitpick! The noise from the original background doesn't match the new sources used. Perhaps some added noise, or reducing the noise from the background. I just starting using a demo of Topaz DeNoise and it's amazing.
(5 years and 3319 days ago)Nice choice of source and colors, but some of your masking in full view looks like you rushed this one.
(5 years and 3320 days ago)I could tell you did this from looking at the thumbnail......it's well within your style. I would've liked to see a shadow beneath the 3d model where she's sitting. Other than that good job and good luck!
(5 years and 3333 days ago)Wonderful creation! It's kinda hard to recognize whats exactly going on in the background, but this is just brilliant! At first glance I had my suspicions of who the author was..........yeah I was right. Another nice entry.......you won't be needing any luck anytime soon, maybe you can pass all of yours this way.
(5 years and 3333 days ago)The biggest problem is the darkness of the shadows. Lots of your details and work aren't visible even in the high res. You really need to view the sbs to appreciate the work involved with this piece. Really nice job and nicely written sbs. Good luck!
(5 years and 3334 days ago)Really nice one author! I'm sure your top three on this good luck
(5 years and 3340 days ago)The crack and ground shading could use a bit of work, but this is very stunning work. The chain, balls, and points are what makes this so nice! Good luck!
(5 years and 3340 days ago)You did a nice job on the container and worm, but I would suggest a bit more work on the person.
(5 years and 3341 days ago)Overall really nice! The only thing I would work on would be the tail and the halo on the bottom of the dog. Top chop, good luck!
(5 years and 3341 days ago)I knew this had to be you. Great work, absolutely stunning.
(5 years and 3341 days ago)At first I thought he had to pee......then I was like naahhh, he's probly dancing. Then I read the title and yes.... he's dancing. Nice job as usual! Good luck!
(5 years and 3343 days ago)Really nice use of source! Good luck!
(5 years and 3343 days ago)I give you a couple points extra for thinking outside the box, but the execution on this need a bit of work.
(5 years and 3345 days ago)Congrats for third!.....Having said that I thought for sure you would've taken the top two spots. Keep up the good work, it's an inspiration for all of us.
(5 years and 3345 days ago)This is great! Love all of the details, would agree that the exhaust needs a bit of work.
(5 years and 3348 days ago)I think you should add a worn path between the lights. Good luck!
(5 years and 3348 days ago)Everything looks good except where the bent pole meets the straight pole. It's all smudged up! Just make a selection of the pole and use the stamp tool to bring down the texture. Good luck.
