You think the example photo is always accurate? There was a contest that posted a picture if a motorcycle for the bicycles contest that specified "No motorcycles" even though the contest picture displayed one.

The contest guidelines says "Pictures frames interacting" as in more than one. Not picture frame, picture frames. It just seems to make more sense to have two frames.

Agree with Greymval. You still have time, although it looks like your alternate source would work well if you if you worked with the perspective a bit.

Dude, wouldn't the guy in step 2 blend better on the bench ( if flipped?) and maybe some bench adjustment too ? You might have to recreate the bench for him..
If not tempted, here's my crazy idea, you can dress a friend of yours into a beggar take him a pic that would fit the source and blend in. Carefull with the light source Yeah I know, I already said it's crazy :p

Try sharping the beggar's image with the Sharp Mask tool, it may help a bit.

Or, if the beggar image was too small when you pasted it into the bench image, make the bench image smaller.

This could use some shadows on the girrafe's head &ears for better blend.

/agree with both above comments, this one is soooo close to being a 9 or 10!!

With some retouching on the giraffe, this image would hae an excellent looking. Ty addind more contrast, and some shadows at the left side of the neck of the giraffe to make it look a bit less flat

After looking at it again I would say it's still red, but you might see what I mean by comparing thumbnails, to the other entries. Just a tint of violet, but still red. It does make it stand out against the rest so GL!
