Henry J. Waternoose III I presume? hehehe.. super fun creations (not a duplicate of Henry, but it sure reminded me of him LOL GREAT JOB!
(5 years and 1484 days ago)Strange blur causes the depth to be a little wonky.. the definition of the flowers kind of says they are in front though the placement of the "wing" looks as if it's behind the flowers, not underneath. Not a bad thing but a tad bit visually confusing... sorry, no suggestions as the contest is in "vote" status and there is no way for you to fix it author... still a very nice image, the definition of the the shell could match the definition of the babe (the edge blur causes a bit of resolution confusion). Not a criticism, just trying to help. The moon looks a tad bit cut out and flat, again, just what I see. It's a fine image, just tweaking could benefit the overall image. IMHO of course. GOOD LUCK AUTHOR.
(5 years and 1484 days ago)Gritty Valentine
(5 years and 1485 days ago)Neat mood on this author, very original for Valentine's day.. out of the box..
(5 years and 1485 days ago)I suggest to give some depth to the hearts/arrows as they look a little flat (simple burn or properly placed bevel/emboss) would give the hearts and the shaft of the arrows more density and make them look a little less like flat paper. The bright white really sticks out and shading would cut that back a bit. Really great concept! Love it!
Classy! It makes me feel like my mouth is full of Jolly Ranchers! (Jolly Ranchers the Candy, not Santa Claus personality males who like the rodeo)
(5 years and 1485 days ago)Joyous and original!
(5 years and 1485 days ago)hehehe, that guy is a very popular source, I'm glad you covered up his "Super cuts" hair cut, I'm just wondering if the dragon is a little on the simple side. NOT THE WORK, the work is spectacular beyond belief, I guess I'm just searching for something more.. well new. but that's just me.. great job though
very fun chop
(5 years and 1486 days ago)No longer sneezy.. now he's Breathy... hehehe.. looks much better with the larger flame coming directly out of his mouth instead of his nostril. Over all feel is much improved. Great job author
(5 years and 1486 days ago)Very Classy!
(5 years and 1486 days ago)Darnit, I read it as Wine Virus and got all giddy.. author, you big tease... Really fun chop
(5 years and 1489 days ago)No problem author, now center his horn or give him two for balance, it's annoying... I AM JUST KIDDING, it's fine just the way it is, I'm just messing with you. It reminds me of the "Cartoon Films" on PBS on late night that were "not allowed" in prime time way back in the 80's. Mainly because they were just a little off base college creations that involved Frankstien Chocolate Cake that the villagers had to eat in order to kill it. Weird. Thanks for the memory dump LOL
(5 years and 1490 days ago)Just add the photos to the SBS as separate steps and label them MY PHOTO.. easy peasy...

(5 years and 1490 days ago)Very fun chop
Author, you may have to rethink the Globe Projection.. I think it falls under the realm of Illustration. (Not a hard thing to replace) If you repeat the disk and stack it a bit it will give it more density, becoming more disk like instead of a sheet of paper. IMHO. Good luck and cool idea.
(5 years and 1490 days ago)Double check with a MOD to find out if it's okay to use the Polar Projection as a source, but I think it's not allowed.
Morla? hehehe
(5 years and 1491 days ago)Congrats!

(5 years and 1491 days ago)Having a flash back of the Mothra Egg from my child hood. Yowza.
(5 years and 1492 days ago)That little white edge on the the lip of the crater is a slight distraction but the overall feel of chop has a very red feel to it. Sort of like a Sepia Effect only pounded into the orange/red spectrum.
While the egg is technically a baby dragon (in my book anyway) the contest is a DRAGON contest so that might be something to look into.
As time is a factor (and it would be a big change) you might want to think of having a crack in the egg with a claw popping out. Just a suggestion.
Good work overall, enjoyable vision.
When overlaying an image with textures be careful not to destroy the resolution. (Unless that was your intent). In photoshop, you can see how the tail of the dragon is INSIDE the Castle, but the distance is funked up and gives the feeling the Dragon is flying INFRONT of the castle not landing on top of it. (In my eyes anyway). If that was your intent you may want to burn the edges of the castle where the dragon landed to give it more of grounded/holding the tower feel. Again, this could be caused by the texture overpowering the image and making the detail blur. Only a suggestion as always IMHO.
(5 years and 1492 days ago)The Castle source is incredibly blurred in the original source and that adds to the difficulty of matching up the landing effect. Trying to match up the resolution of the castle with the incredible detail of the reptiles cause a lot of the blending issues.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great design, I'm just looking at it as how it could be improved for the overall effect and crank it up a notch.
The calm color scheme is well thought out, but be careful as that can make it a bit bland with no punch. Not a bad thing, but in photoshop there is always room for a little more WOW. GOOD LUCK.
You should see what my dreams are, they'd make your eyes roll back in your head for sure. In my coma, I dreamed of making living cabbage in an air conditioning unit all the while playing a card game with a patient in the bed next to me who was in a kiddie pool being dowsed with some sort of liquid that resembled Gatorade. My mind is all over the place ... hehehe
(5 years and 1492 days ago)Incredibly fun work (SBS is wonderful). You might want to save yourself some headache by using some altered parts of the source (the little round orbs on the top of the hour glass would make little planets quite nicely, just alternating the hue for interest.)
Really is a fun image, the grid work reminds me of a screen saver I had in the late 80's
(5 years and 1492 days ago)I only say this because some voters get a little cranky when they can't see the source directly. The whole Chopped Beyond Recognition crap. Personally I can see clearly how the source was used (thanks to the SBS)but adding defined items from the source always puts a stamp on some of the cranky. Good luck author
That's one neato fish
(5 years and 1493 days ago)What a neat ear fan, and I love the nose horns ...
(5 years and 1493 days ago)Do you think the even shade through out the piece causes a flatness? If you place the original Alligator(separate layer) over the chop and blink it (turn the top layer on and off) you will see the difference in shading become very visible. A SUPER SOFT Burn/Dodge brush over the even areas (darkening/burn the bottom of the head, and lightning/dodging the over all face) to give it more of a "Sphere Feel" then a flat sheet of paper. Just be careful not to over do it, the texture is wonderful. Each horn might be enhanced with burning gently on the darker side to give them more of a TUBE look as opposed to the flatness they carry at this time. (according to the light source). The teeth are a GREAT example on how the horns could look. In fact... just copying the shading of the teeth to the horns would work quite nicely. ONLY MY SUGGESTION. Very good work all round.. and as always... IMHO. GOOD LUCK.
Seagulls! They're RATS with Wings! (got that from Finding Nemo) I really like how the grass melts into the ocean and Vice/Versa. Neat vision author! Good luck
(5 years and 1493 days ago)You should see the other versions.. that's the PC one, some of them are absolutely terrifying... not as creepy as Ring around the Rosie, but it's up there
(5 years and 1493 days ago)Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,

(5 years and 1494 days ago)Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one,
And her name is Ann,
And she hid under the baking pan.
Just love your sketch book author
hehehe, aren't arches a royal pain in the patoot? Great fix, the perspective is much improved.
(5 years and 1494 days ago)Hi Five Spaceranger, it's all good
(5 years and 1494 days ago)Wow, really went for the swirly whirly effect through the whole piece. Reminds me of a Velvet Painting... on Crack. hehehe. The construction of the "Seahorse" dragon is really quite nice.
(5 years and 1494 days ago)If this isn't viewed in HIGH RES you can't really appreciated the work that has done. The painting textures are wonderful. Good luck author.
Err umm, I think he could take it off, and all he would have to do is remove the safety pin at his hip where the cloth is being held together (I'm terrible, and I'm going to hell, but I couldn't resist)
(5 years and 1495 days ago)Not to mention I translated it in the first comment and nobody noticed... nobody loves me.. boo hoo hoo... hehehe (JUST KIDDING)
Tweak the Tweet Tweet hehehe (couldn't resist) love the flowers Good luck
(5 years and 1495 days ago)Following the arch of the roundness of the base of the windmill to match the arch of the the seed tray as Spaceranger suggest. The over all chop is beautiful.
hehehe, Poor author, bouncing you all around like a ping pong ball.. Great form. Still an awesome chop. My biggest concern was about marketing, 30 years in the Art Business does that to a fellow
(5 years and 1497 days ago)Supreme! and oh so melancholy.
(5 years and 1497 days ago)Much improved author, the lioness is much more Panthera leo and less Felis silvestris catus. That little tweak made a world of difference (IMHO). Smart move on the on the flowers as well. The labyrinth was a solid choice and adds a lot of interest to the chop. Once again IMHO. Good luck.
(5 years and 1497 days ago)Those are "SPOOKY" snowmen... great job
(5 years and 1498 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1498 days ago)Congrats!

(5 years and 1498 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 1498 days ago)CBR wins! WOOT!
(5 years and 1498 days ago)I like the bracelet doo hickeys around the nest, fun chop
(5 years and 1498 days ago)touché author...LOL... oh the acid free tape that would have to be used to achieve that framing LOL
(5 years and 1498 days ago)I know it was just a little thing, but it does make a world of difference (well to me anyway
) Good luck author.
(5 years and 1498 days ago)Kind of looks like an illustration from an old Fairy Tale Book, after smoking crack. I'M JUST KIDDING.. but seriously, it looks really sharp.
(5 years and 1499 days ago)If you have the original images (before the filter effect) place it under this layer and experiment with blending options to see what happens.
This is a mixed media contest, so this image is fine. Though I think the Lioness could be just a tad bit bigger so her ears break the cliff edge. She's looking more cat like instead of lion like. More little mushrooms might help to give them some purpose. They kind of look like the just plopped into the picture. Not a bad thing, but they are curious.
Good luck author.
