I'm thinking a bit more brightness author.. I've looked at other entries and yours is by far the darkest (I can see the detail a bit better in High res..) IMHO, a bit higher contrast/brightness might be helpful (or blending with a high pass filter etc...

But the design is quite cool, good LUCK!!!

Awesome work (just a little trick I use, if you place a warp grid over the light purplish anemone and pull from the center up ward it will give them a bit more roundness.. though I do like the buzz saw effect (Stacking three or four on top of each other and merging and then pulling again, upward through the center will also make them round up a little.. (appropriate burns of course))

No author.... just a suggestion (take it or leave it.. very droste by the way.. this kind of contest is totally up to the author)..

If you take a super soft brush and BURN each interior edge of each image it will draw the eye into to each separate layer.. BUT A SOFT BRUSH...will make each layer stand out, and not look like a pop shot taken by some teenage flake at the mall.. (it's all one color scheme at the moment)

enhancing the layers at different blurs and color contrasts will make the idea pop.. but this is all in my opinion... this is your creation so anything you decide will be just fine.. Just offering some simple thoughts from my bizarre, but always KIND mind
