It may also help to over expose the photo by a half stop or more, as this would help with the exposure of the main subject.

With a little flash blow (fill in) you would have reduce the dark shadow and recover details on the face. Because here it's very dark.

I understand author, but ask you a question (and I think that other people here should think about it, and not only for this particular contest) : Are you in a "Special Sign-contest website" or in a "Photography-contest website" ? (I've seen your portfolio ... you're able to do so much better than this !!!)

I don't want to offense you author but, what do you expect by posting that kind of picture in a "photography contest" ? The quality is so poor that we can't even see a detail. I'm sure you have something better to upload, no ?

I think it would be a better source if the legs were completely in the picture.

3 Different figures to work with as a PS source, interesting idea and might give some possibilities.

To make it as a good source there's some requirements. One of them is that you want an as natural color as possible to match it with other sources.
