I tend to agree with Friiskiwi - just my humble opinion of course. I don't feel it's needed to convey the bike gears as the rest, including the bike chain are so nice and sharp. I think the majority of people would subconciously know what they are looking at by the detail that you have in. (plus, I tend to equate the Shimano brand with fishing reels than bikes )

Nice work around - I don't have a macro lens either. When you say you used a magnifier do you mean a magnifying filter or an actual magnifying glass?
