As Friiskiwi said - it is a lovely photo, I think the focus on his eyes could be better, his hat appears to be sharper but the eyes are more important in a portrait.

The flash is harsh in this, leaving a very hard shadow. It would pay to diffuse the flash & get it off camera or even try bouncing it off the ceiling.

As the toes are clearly the focus not the knee, I would have thought this be OK.
