Congrats Chris.
(5 years and 302 days ago)Love the movement caught. Nice one.

(5 years and 322 days ago)Congrats Hallomega
(5 years and 323 days ago)congrats
(5 years and 323 days ago)Yes, good decay photo. There are many 'crumbling bricks' in and around Thailand.
(5 years and 339 days ago)I wonder if a less generous crop with more foreground showing would have enhanced it and a crop down to eliminate the roof...I know you will say that if you did crop down it would kill the window but you could clone out that brown streak of wood to the left, and it would affect the windows...I know you cannot do this for PXL contests but in case you want to Cross Hatch this and turn it into a beautifully mounted complimentary image to go with Milan.
(5 years and 339 days ago)Truly, only a photographer would stop to take a photo of a decaying car full of waste. I like your chutzpah and thank you for showing all of us that "photos are everywhere".
(5 years and 339 days ago)You are brave to post this and remind us all that this is where we are all headed for...
(5 years and 339 days ago)Well yes, it is better to give the photo a title, they are kind of living beings you see, they need to be named (and this title doesn't need the "entry number xxxxxxx" mention that can be erased).
(5 years and 343 days ago)Afterwards, you can write any other information in the "description" section. It makes it nicer to look at, and more personal too.
YUM YUM YUM
(5 years and 343 days ago)Nice one Chris and congrats!
(5 years and 343 days ago)Oh sorry you wrote it, it is in Thailand. Much visible in a title though.
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats !
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats again Hallomega
(5 years and 343 days ago)It would be nice if you gave name to your pics (and we would know where it is perhaps)
Congrats Hallomega
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats !!
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats !!
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats for winning this
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats for winning 1 and 2
(5 years and 343 days ago)It's the dance of the hands with this shot. The little boy on the flute in the corner adds nicely to the story. I hunger to see some emotion on the face of the dancer. I do think the shot, especially on the hands, could have more clarity.
(5 years and 531 days ago)Love the energy shown here including that fella in the background. I am one viewer who really likes to see blur in dance images and not pin sharp and the movement shown here pushes the image into the top. The whole photograph is dancing...I love it.
(5 years and 531 days ago)Hmmm, they are not dancing instead they look like they are in discussion about something on the written pad of the woman in the center. Their costumes are interesting and the photo is sharp.
(5 years and 531 days ago)Surely you have caught the emotive element in this shot. It is dreamy and soft and the softness of the photograph is appropriate to match the emotion of that one dancer. I wonder if a wee bit of a nip down (a tighter crop) would benefit this shot?
(5 years and 531 days ago)Hi Chris, just landed home last night. Congrats on this win, it is a very strong image....good on you!
(5 years and 566 days ago)Congrats for winning this one
(5 years and 568 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 568 days ago)For some reason this jumped straight into high res and caused me to almost fall off my chair. I love the colours and the patterns including the diagonal slant to the photo making this a very dynamic and exciting upload to study! Very nice indeed.
(5 years and 574 days ago)I like how you caught the movement in this, nice.
(5 years and 598 days ago)Oh my goodness....I am 4 hours (by car) away from this town. I ought to drive up there to catch a performance. Yes, the blur is fine, showing movement and making the image exciting, yet somehow it appears scattered and has that touristy happy snappy "memory" photo.
(5 years and 601 days ago)OH MY....wonderful. You caught this child at the peak of exploration, had you shot a second earlier or a second later it would not have been the same image. This image clearly shows curiosity of this little girl as she explores (and thereby learns). Everything is a wonder to her and your photograph shows this aspect. If you are going to give this as a gift to the mom I would suggest you either clone out those two legs growing in the pumpkin patch just above her head or you could clone and crop down (I know this is not allowed for these contests, so this is just a suggestion). Had you stepped back a bit more you would have shot her shoes instead of amputating her legs, but you were focused on the emotional element and you succeeded completely.
(5 years and 608 days ago)It may work well because you have that blow out of white background....try high contrast monochrome too.
(5 years and 608 days ago)This is a photograph taken not a photograph shot! You worked hard to present us these ruins in an innovative way , through the frame and it works. Nice shot. This has nice textural quality to it and would work in monochrome as well.
(5 years and 608 days ago)I am drawn to the side compositional style of this photo that hints of minimalism. The large sky was your intention and it works to "shrink" that aboandonded forlorn looking building and the foreground is perfect. My only comment is that it doesn't look sharp and I'm wondering if you took this out of a moving car?
(5 years and 608 days ago)great sense of humour you have. Yes, sardines is right but they look comfortable enough. I wonder if this photo would have been stronger with a crop out of those white cars?
(5 years and 634 days ago)I love the artistic touch to this piece, the minimalism of one person. Visually I do think there would have been a stronger impact with that side bit cropped because it does take attention away from the beauty of the image....I know this is all about artistic prerogative and I bow to yours.
(5 years and 634 days ago)If you have time you can still redo and reupload a newer version. Oftentimes I take reviewer's comments to heart and follow what they suggest, sometimes not. That perspective tool does distort somewhat, it is not all forgiving.
(5 years and 634 days ago)I think had you done that you would have had a frame full of chilis and no further story. Where in the world does one find chili pepper on a woven or in a woven basket....mystery!
(5 years and 634 days ago)achhh these photos are difficult to take with tilts showing up everywhere. The doors seem slanted to the left, the balcony to the right. Consider using your lens perspective tool in PS to level it somewhat. I cannot help but wonder if a tighter crop may have strengthened your image. You are showing colourful laundry therefore you could crop down and eliminate the upper balcony but that is all about artistic prerogative and I bow to yours. Technically it is well done with good dyamic range of tones giving it depth and it is a sharp photo.
(5 years and 634 days ago)It is very nice how the three shades of orange play off of each other, however the man, (the main focal point) is soft and needs to be sharply in focus, after all he's the star character as your title suggests.
(5 years and 634 days ago)I like this and it would have done really well in a RED focal point contest. The image is sharp with good contrast evident and you kept part of the woven basket in the frame which adds a very exotic feel.
(5 years and 634 days ago)good vibrant photo, full of energy
(5 years and 649 days ago)Thanks, a very intriguing photo.
(5 years and 651 days ago)No - push the boundaries - try new things and ideas. Otherwise we just produce 'stock' images.
(5 years and 653 days ago)Wish you had given a bit of background info on this stellar image.
(5 years and 653 days ago)Super. Crystal clear and the lines of droplets and angles the lines create are tremendous. Really like this shot. Where / what was it?
(5 years and 655 days ago)Another interesting image and treatment. Great image.
(5 years and 655 days ago)Great idea. The photo draws you in as you try to find a pattern or meaning to the letters.
(5 years and 655 days ago)Well done for the win
(5 years and 659 days ago)HA....I knew it....CONGRATULATIONS on your first win on pxyleyes, it won't be the last...I know there are many more where this one came from.
