"you can only use one person/animal per mix up, so for example you can not give a person 3 hands from different persons or animals"
(5 years and 2458 days ago)Your shadow is way too heavy imo would also be cool if the message and the flower linked somehow, either by bringing them closer or graphically.....
(5 years and 2476 days ago)Never thought I'd see a view of Putney Wharf on this site! lol
(5 years and 2476 days ago)I agree with CMYK46 - clean up the edges, maybe a little DOF to sway attention away from the pixelated photo, and you've got yourself a good chop!
(5 years and 2495 days ago)Yes, looking a lot better now those parts have been dealt with ... Good luck author!!
(5 years and 2497 days ago)Interesting entry, but I noticed the houses in the background are skewed, and also there are some blending issues / artefacts around the tree and in the sky - noticeable in high res.
(5 years and 2497 days ago)you can still see the line but only if you're looking for it.... it's only slightly noticeable though so i wouldn't worry too much about it!! :P - glad you got the tip from the other boat sorted..... it's a good entry!!

(5 years and 2500 days ago)Congrats - Great Image!!
(5 years and 2500 days ago)I think some perspective to the water inside the frame would help make it more believable; would like to see a high res image too!!
(5 years and 2501 days ago)The tip of the boat from your external source is still visible... other than that It's a good blend GL author
(5 years and 2501 days ago)ps wouldn't mind seeing a high res though
For external sources you need to link to the info page NOT the actual image page, as we have no way of telling whether it's usable. It's down to you to prove the validity of your sources. I'm going to guess it's not usable. It looks illustrated. (which is against the rules unless you've illustrated it, in which case you'd need to provide some sbs's of the process)
(5 years and 2501 days ago)cgtextures.com have a range of x-ray's that could probably replace your skull.
As for your entry itself, my initial advice would be to inset your metal parts more, at the moment they look pasted on and not a part of the woman...
GL
Any Help??
(5 years and 2502 days ago)5.4. No External Source used in your Entry: In this case, your entry must have a step by step provided showing how the entry was made. For level 10- contests, a written SBS in the description is also ok (for simple entries), unless a moderator asks you to add a pictorial SBS.
I disagree, it's not that she is too in focus, the car has been shot using a high shutter speed, and what looks to be tracked judging by the slight motion blur to the BG. So she would be just as in focus as the car. There is also an obvious difference in the lighting and the amount of noise between the source image and the stock.
(5 years and 2502 days ago)So
1) Colour correct her to match the stock (use curves)
2) Add a reflection to the car of 'her' left arm and drop to opacity right down
3) I think you forgot to apply my previous advice to the part of the window under her arm :P and darken those areas even more! also, there is a pale line just where the window meets the 'car' - paint that out.
4) Apply some movement to her hair (either find another stock image, which might be easier / or paint and manipulate the source image)
5) It might be easier to get rid of her necklace than to make it match the scene.
6) It might not work but add a layer of noise and bring the opacity down - just an idea.
initial thoughts: - The window is still closed, and there is no physics to her hair...
(5 years and 2502 days ago)Good job, have you got a high res?
(5 years and 2503 days ago)Good job on your entry
(5 years and 2503 days ago)My opinion:
You cropped too close to the tower, and not treated the image as a scene which would work alot better!?....
If those are stars then I think adjusting the levels on a noise layer would give a better effect, you could then highlight the ones you wanted to pop out with the standard star brush set to screen or lower the opacity slightly - or just leave it - totally your own taste
If they are glow bugs, a soft brush set to screen, then white also set to screen to intensify the inside of the glow.
I second what CMYK said about the hair.
EDIT: you changed the hair, it looks worse than before! keep the original as a base and clone in sections from the top, with a soft brush so it's a hint at detail along the length!
you need to post your own image in the sbs section....
(5 years and 2503 days ago)Good blending... a better sky would top the image off!
I'm not a great fan of the use of deviant stock however you've done a great job with it, the subtle changes and hair are really nice!! two things though, I wish your sbs was more detailed and the visualisation of your 'quote' conjours up the image that she is high above the ground, which your image doesn't convey, mainly due to the background... never the less it's a nice image. GL
(5 years and 2504 days ago)RE my original comment, In your original description you said that you used sketchbook pro to illustrate - and from what I assumed colour!! My original point was to highlight that in order for your entry to be more in line with a PS contest; that it be completely illustrated or at least the bulk of it illustrated in PS and not in another piece of software....
(5 years and 2504 days ago)Yes people will submit digitally painted entries; but they will have used PS when entering these contests - you can use whatever you like in the drawing contests...............
So in answer to your post regarding that comment..... that was the problem!!
ANYWAY!!! -
Don't get me wrong I like it, it fits more with the theme than most others in the contest.... BUT I would say it fits more into the digital drawing contest side of things rather than a PS contest, as judging by your description it seems only minimal use of Photoshop was used, but ill wait for your step by step.
(5 years and 2505 days ago)Haha I was waiting for someone to use the human species! I think it could use a little sharpening but Good job regardless!! GL
(5 years and 2505 days ago)This is a GREAT image... I originally posted that source 5 wasn't significantly used for my liking but on reflection, I don't care!!!! awesome job!! GL
(5 years and 2505 days ago)I think the reflection could use a little tweaking..... maybe use the dodge tool on a non destructive layer - (if you don't know what that is it's a 50% grey fill then the layer set to overlay above the intended layer you wish to change) to whiten out the lighter parts of the water in that general area or set the layer that's on to screen or overlay depending on your preference.
(5 years and 2506 days ago)There wouldn't be any shadows falling under the lips of the roof either....
Other than that it's a good entry; I like it!?!.... GL
Sorry, what I meant regarding the wings was that they are the most noticeable in terms of image quality (that is mainly die to the source and not yourself) - I should have worded my original statement clearer...
(5 years and 2506 days ago)yes that's better GL Author
(5 years and 2506 days ago)You CAN use smoke brushes!! it was my misunderstanding! - but I still prefer images over brushes but that's just me!! anyway GL with your entry!!
(5 years and 2506 days ago)cute, but something seems to have happened to the quality of the parrot source, it's not as sharp? - the butterfly wings are also bringing the overall picture down; but I really like the concept! Well done
