I think it could definately be worked on... there's still plenty of time... I'm just taken aback by the heavy use of filters... your bridge could easily have been made just by the source image with your drawing as a guide... and using the source for texture too... as just one example... but if you are happy with it then that's the main thing...

that's just because it's the only element... and doesn't blend well with the pages... that's why it looks so 'plonked' (lol)

IMO...your letters stand out a little too much, and the shadows aren't connected in some areas, and some have none at all. I don't see how they would pop up when the book is opened, but the actual building is well put together, and makes sense. I think you could have spent some time on the pages of the book because the two don't work together... and you thought about the pull tabs even if they are a little flimsy... on the whole though a very good effort GL

Now this is a perfect example of a realistic looking pop up book! - an example to everyone that went the wrong direction with this theme. EXCELLENT! you have made me a very happy person indeed! my only criticism is you can see the repetative use of the clone tool on the left hand side on the bg trees... fix that and it's well on the way IMHO.

I like your idea, it's to theme but the background doesn't really match too well with the rest of your image.

How would your book perform it's 'pop up' - there are no tabs to pull or push...

The only thing I would say is that if something pops up from anywhere other than the middle... that isn't directly attached or a part of the middle element... it usually uses some other form of mechanism that makes it pop up... so technically your book wouldn't work... but i suppose you could have the mechanism somewhere the viewer cant see it - I do like it visually though! GL

personally I would make it as real as possible to an actual pop up book... not only would it look great, but it would be exactly 100% on theme, without the use of having to rely on peoples imagination...

Well I still can't see it personally... all you've done is line up the image to the fold in the book... which then makes the woman look as though she is lying in the book like maXed said... she isn't an element thats popping up... I shouldn't have to use my imagination to make your entry 'work'

EDIT: OK OK I actually see your logic... but i think the girl then should look like her feet are attached to the page... so that it makes it clear she is an 'element standing up'...cause seriously it just looks like she is propping her feet up onto the wall... and maybe a fold line where she would fold when the book is closed!!...

AND AS AN APOLOGY:... i had better inform you that you haven't included your own image of your book uncut/unaltered in your sbs... so it will get removed if you don't rectify that...

I don't think its spam... 'donk' ... I think it's making authors aware that their entry is off theme... if you disagree then re-read the contest goal... and your justification is just as bad as "i assume the land mass of my planet represents my country" - It's meant to be a pop up book... technically the pop up book would be broken looking at the angle of the body in relation to the books spine...
