What CMYK advised you is true. The rock located on the left side of the image, takes some view away from the hat of the skeleton. You could have erased it and cloning with the sky... a little blur would have helped better... good luck. Good source finds! They might stand out better against a different background. The black rocks against the blacks in the foreground figures is visually confusing.

It's looking better, I think it could be moved down, just a tiny bit more, and also the plant under the caterpillar would be in his shadow.

Nicely done , one thing, the little branch he's on looks like it is a bit too high. Compare to your reference image, the plant is seen in between his "middle feet" and below his "front feet"

If anything, just make the crow's foot more visible because that adds a bit of 'evil' to the overall intent in the crow's expression. The scarecrow's expression (and of course the irony of it!) are priceless too. Excellent work.

The lighting on the crow (the top of his head is not illuminated) is not consistent with the lighting on the scarecrow, and the crow is casting no shadow onto the scarecrow at all...The Dodge Tool set to low (5-10%) for Midtones or highlights with a speckled brush should help with the lighting on top, and the Burn Tool set to highlights at about 10-12% with a large soft edged solid brush should help give you shadow on the scarecrow. Make sure to work on a duplicate layer, to preserve your original.
