Sorry Author, I have to agree with the above statements...the entire right side is out of focus, given the title "Green", one would anticipate the focus to either be on the green, or lead to it. Given the leading lines created by the skew of the bricks and the DOF clearly focused on the left of the image, it leads the viewers eyes not to the green, but off the image to the left...

Well it doesn't work author, would be far better with the focus on the green

Why would you do this on purpose?

In your title you certainly talk about the green part. Then you need to focus on this part. There's too much blurred area at the right of your picture.

Dear Author, the first thing to consider when entering a photographic contest is if the photo is in focus. If not find an other photo.

Nice find I would have messed with the "levels" a little with this to make the black blacker so it stuck out a little more, or curves or contrast.

author, stick around and you'll get constructive criticism and help from the other members here and soon your photos will be looking great. Also check out some tutorials and make sure to look at other member's photos that have won so you get an idea of what looks good. You may have to seldomly deal with someone who doesn't always have tact (adeincyprus) but that same person will probably turn around and help you out and you'll have great photos in no time.
I would suggest you also download a photo editing program like Photoshop or the like, if you haven't already. You can adjust things in your photo to make them look a little better--but just make sure you read the photography guidelines. If you want, you can even edit your photos at picnik.com but again, make sure you read the guidelines for photography because only certain things can be done to your photos.

I quite like the Concept of your Photo and also like that its lifeless and no color. A world full of gabage and nothing else. I also agree with adeincyprus that some contrast would have given it real punch and impact. I like your idea

that's it!!................... this is your best effort? at least if you are going to submit a shot of a lone can, put some color and contrast into it. this is flat and lifeless.

I am guessing this is a tortoise shell, but as there is no hi res, and the pic is so small, it is difficult to be sure. Please supply either a hi res, or at least, a decent size image to be viewed.
