There're many ways to fly to the sky and this is how Elvis the robot can reach the clouds... I used only the sky from deadenddoll-stock as the external source, the other parts were done by drawing using Photoshop.

I've create a new smoke instead of the brush.. I use a black background and draw white lines.. a lot of liquify, motion blur, liquify, fade liquify, blur, other lines, multiply and wrap the leayer with different blends...inverse the final result , put in place and set the layer to multiply mode
