Upside downy and it makes my eyes warble. LOVE IT!
(5 years and 436 days ago)Clever use of the source the turn it 180.
(5 years and 437 days ago)You could bring the girl a bit out IMHO by making her edges less dark, the light is coming from the front.
I see where your thought process in this one,i only ment maybe slightly nearer as apposed to right in front in this,or am I alone in my thoughts.
(5 years and 440 days ago)I think this world is going to hell in a handbasket ( that phrase describes a situation headed for disaster inescapably). Now nobody talks to each other, everyone is plugged into their mobile. We watched a great movie last night called "Do you trust your computer"....if you can get it do so, it's frightening. Stephen Hawking predicted that mankind will end because of AI....oh dear I think I'm rambling and this has nothing to do with your photo...sorry. If you can get the book INFIDEL by Ayaan Hirsi Ali do so....she became one of your parliamentarians....fascinating journey.
(5 years and 440 days ago)Ha, I disagree and here are my two cents worth. The photo matches the title because that feeling of "gone" is prevalent...had this author uploaded a photo of a strong image of person then that feeling of "gone" wouldn't be there because he would be "here" and not "gone". This guy in the blue is going going almost gone! I'm sure there is a joke in here somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it.
(5 years and 440 days ago)I think this would be more emotive had the person been stronger in this.
(5 years and 440 days ago)Yes I also would like to know the reason behind this, good use of perspective, and getting him signing also makes this.
(5 years and 440 days ago)The tonal quality is very lovely and there is a strong emotive pull with this upload,...you romantic you.
(5 years and 440 days ago)Very interesting upload and I would love to know what the "signature action" is in aid of. Well seen and nicely composed too bad you cut off his foot but HC BRESSON did the same and worse and look where it got him ! ha.
(5 years and 440 days ago)You are lucky that they allowed you in. We went to a mosque in Sri Lanka and I was not allowed in....female y'know...dirty y'know. I went to shake the hand of a Muslim young man to say thank you for speaking to me and my husband, he shook my husband's hand and refused mine, jerking away as if I was infected with leprosy!
(5 years and 440 days ago)Have no idea why, but this reminded me of "The Man who sold Rope to the Gnoles"... now I'm going to be having nightmares for days.. thanks alot! hehehe
(5 years and 441 days ago)I really like the low pov (your signature) but do wish that that clump of humanity at the right wouldn't be so amputated it teases the mind.
(5 years and 441 days ago)Selective colour? Good one.
(5 years and 442 days ago)fair enough
(5 years and 442 days ago)Snorkle
(5 years and 443 days ago)The bokeh on this really rocks!
(5 years and 443 days ago)Again with some of your stuff that low perspective, think if you used the worshippers more, would have told more of a story,or maybe that was not possible.
(5 years and 443 days ago)A belated congrats to you too.
(5 years and 445 days ago)Congrats Fred
(5 years and 446 days ago)So you never managed to load your chop for the wheel contest???
I do not understand, this is a strong photograph.
(5 years and 447 days ago)Congratulations my friend...
(5 years and 447 days ago)Good score LifetimeDamage.
(5 years and 447 days ago)WAKA WAKA WAKA WAKA WAKA WAKA WAKA WAKA.... BOINK! BOINK!
(5 years and 447 days ago)Chickens do swim you know.. it's just really pathetic because they don't have web feet (they mainly swim to cool off)... and oh what a smell... anywhoo... that's your animal lesson for today children.. now back to your regularly scheduled program, where we will see Emma Jean Backstop make a 12 bean salad, using only three types of beans and magic markers
(5 years and 451 days ago)Author, I find your water droplets highly offensive.. water droplets above the cloud line would be crystallized into little diamonds shaped like space ships from the warriors of the planet Koozvane in the dimension where Zoo-Zuu the emperor princess wanted to take over for her sister because she was a really nice girl and she just thought it would be appropriate to see her face on the coin of Kreplok.
(5 years and 452 days ago)Also you didn't show how a whales ears would pop at such an altitude and his blow hole would be very jealous but since the blow hole has custody of the children she didn't say anything, didn't want to muck up the waters and all that rot you know. A girl has to think about her family. Yeesh and burger crunchies.
(Great chop by the way, and I gave you a few extra points on top of everything because I'm a sarcastic old bastard and just can't stop giggling) ^5
Nice perspective. I think I might have cropped a bit from the left, and just a little from the right to put it in portrait format. That would emphasis the DOF more. But overall, very nice.
(5 years and 454 days ago)Although this is cliche you have done a great job. A strong entry.
(5 years and 455 days ago)I remember that fun little pac man game. Your pac bug is very cute. You did a good job of making the balls.
(5 years and 456 days ago)Suggested improvements..... The cloning of the grass and wall areas need some attention because it is too obvious. Good cloning should be almost invisible.
That area where you cut the wall back looks like you cloned from the left wall. I suggest you clone from the right wall of the source image because the cloned lines still need to be vertical not diagonal.
I like the way it shot
(5 years and 456 days ago)Well good one and my first thought was maybe a vertical version would be stronger, but on second thoughts,i like the strong detail of the brickwork, good one.
(5 years and 457 days ago)Hey, that is good advertising! You can still take this down and re-upload, but I don't think it matters because most of us don't know you as Fred. (but the secret is out now )
(5 years and 458 days ago)Just looked through your website, some lovely images there, Fred. Life in Rotterdam looks anything but boring! I like this upload but wish to know more about it.
(5 years and 458 days ago)Your perspective is cracking great! There is a lot of information here for the eyes to take in making it busy. A crop at the very bottom may change the dynamic somewhat.
(5 years and 459 days ago)This is a photograph that was not just snapped but a lot of thought went into the creative aspect of giving us something unique. To me, it sings in three-part harmony with shapes and colours that are balanced and tickle the visual pathways. Technically also very nicely accomplished. The focus is GLASSES and I think a bit more of a crop at the right would pull that element closer to us, but that is artistic prerogative and I bow to yours. A photograph made, not taken....good and inspirational.
(5 years and 459 days ago)A little trick to find yuckies that weren't masked properly is to just add a Stroke to that layer. Trust me, it will find them!! I left some garbage on the left, added a Stroke, and you can CLEARLY see them. https://image.ibb.co/d4jVHe/yuckies.jpg
(5 years and 460 days ago)That's possibly a good idea. One the author may want to experiment with. Change the whale to a Smart Object and mess around with some blurs.
(5 years and 460 days ago)I'm not sure I agree. As the author said, "clouds are water". I'm not sure if a whale would have that much water coming off it if it somehow leaped through the clouds as I am not an expert on whales leaping through clouds. Perhaps it would get misty/dewy. Perhaps if it's a rain cloud it would get fairly wet. Perhaps you are right and it would be totally dry. But my final thoughts are that I like the water coming off the whale.
(5 years and 460 days ago)Now we are sending mixed signals to the author and he/she will have to make up their mind.
In my opinion the whale and splash are too sharp, it would be good to soften them to better integrate them into the background.
(5 years and 460 days ago)Congrats well deserved
(5 years and 460 days ago)Congrats
(5 years and 460 days ago)Congrats, beautiful
(5 years and 460 days ago)arrrggghhh my emoji didn't work
(5 years and 461 days ago):jumping2: Good for you, this was a winner, I knew it....big congratulations!
(5 years and 461 days ago)I liked this one very much and congrats on number 3!
(5 years and 461 days ago)If the whale is supposed to be breaching through high clouds, I'd think about eliminating the water drops. He'd get pretty dry getting up there.
(5 years and 461 days ago)good job masking the water drops. there is a long line from the fin to the nose just outside the body.
(5 years and 461 days ago)Congrats
(5 years and 461 days ago)I like the leading lines
(5 years and 462 days ago)Ahhh cool, we don't have that kind of technology here and just get "shi..." all the time.
(5 years and 462 days ago)Like the shadow, the darkness, the monochrome and the mystery.
