I really like the "pristine" undisturbed snow between you and the lights...
(5 years and 2945 days ago)I can see the judges holding the scorecards for his dive now...lol! Fun photo!
(5 years and 2945 days ago)His teeth look very nice, "Stumpy..." LOL! Good photo, I wondered if it was real, too!
(5 years and 2946 days ago)What was she baking?
(5 years and 2946 days ago)I love the way the trees are illuminated. Campfire, I'm guessing?
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Very nice effect, but the shadows on the vines are too dark in comparison to the rest of the image. They are almost black compared to the shadows of the bricks they are attached to. If you lighten them just a bit, they will look a bit more realistic.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)MUCH improved, more visually consistent now, which makes for a more enjoyable appreciation of the piece.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Author, you will find that pure black, like pure white, is seldom an effective "arty kinda thing," because being extremes, they tend to dominate an image, so *in general*, you want to have them visually consistent to fit the visual dominance they will exert, which the shadow now effectively does.
The clarity is super sharp, but the composition leaves a lot to be desired. The face is almost centered behind the sax, with the hand detracting from the sax and fighting to dominate this picture, and the sharp edge of the collar pulling the eye over to there. There is no clear focal point to the image.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)You might try blurring the aquaduct a bit. The buggy and sand are noticeably less focused.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)These are SUCH unusual fruit, I never tire of seeing photos of them in all stages of growth. Well done.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)This is beautiful. Very well done!
(5 years and 2946 days ago)You should submit this as a Photoshop Contest Suggestion after the contest is over - It would be great fun to play with!
The skin texture by the mouth and eyebrow look too obviously liquified. You might try cloning the skin from other areas back in there to minimize this.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Great composition.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Great photo! Fantastic focus, so sharp the values are wonderful to look at. High mark, my fav!
(5 years and 2946 days ago)The yellow glow does not work in front of the trees, and the colored lights are showing through the house. They are also too blurred for the image, as the outline of the tree tops is in sharp focus. This is a cute concept, but the execution needs work.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Nice mood, but the Reaper is out of proportion for the image - He would be almost as tall as the arch if he stood up off that tricycle...
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Beautiful clarity, but the composition is a bit too target centered.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)You might consider cropping the left side to the edge of the woman in white's face, and possibly a bit more off the top. Since you've cut off the top of the ball, trimming the side will help de-emphasize that side and make the photo look less like a "snapshot."
Excellent work. Looks authentic.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Very good blending, but sadly, the water does not look realistic, as it is too "smooth" in front of the falls. Flowing water does just that. It does not simply "fall off" along the edge, it flows to the edge.
(5 years and 2946 days ago)The lighting of the boat also needs some work, as the sails do not show the light source of the moon behind them to correspond with the strong shadow. They need to have more back lighting, and the shadow of the masts behind the sails needs to be seen.
Great result, much improved!
(5 years and 2946 days ago)I'm not getting him down, he can stay there! AAahhh!
(5 years and 2946 days ago)Great chop!
"If you have to explain it, you've failed at visually communicating it..." One upside down fish will not convey your fantasy world, it just looks like a dead fish, because you have given the viewer nothing to convey that your fish world is any different from the real world. Everything else is right side up, except for one fish. If you filled the image with dozens of upside down fish, the viewer would generally assume that they were all dead and floating "belly up."
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Perhaps if you placed the tree top beneath the castle, so that it was upside down, or flipped your background so the water was on top, and the clouds on the bottom, it would help create a more cohesive "upside down" environment, but as is, it just does not come across as you are envisioning it.
Looks a bit better and more visually dynamic.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Beautiful photo!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Beautiful capture, but it leans down to the left a bit. It will be stronger if you level it out some.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)A bit too "target centered." It looks like a snapshot, without much real visual interest. Even though you have a nice range of values, the composition hurts this photo.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Very rich colors. Nice capture!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Nice shot, but it leans down to the right slightly. If you level it out, it will be a stronger image.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Beautiful angle and lighting. I could easily see this framed and on a wall. Excellent photo.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)How unusual! Can you eat it?
(5 years and 2947 days ago)The shadow on the right could have used a flash to fill in the darkness.
Nice capture.
Great capture, well done!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)I love the composition and the full range of values in this. The numerous shades of gray make it something to look at and appreciate for awhile, rather than just glance at and move on. Well done!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Don't crop, it'll lose balance along with the petals at the bottom. It's beautiful, in spite of the "target centering" composition, that only keeps it from being exceptional. Good job!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)The happiness you've captured in this photo literally jumps off the monitor to the viewer. This photo made me grin instantly. EXCELLENT!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Nice lighting! Good clarity and color.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Very interesting factoid! Nice photo, too.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)The shadow on the ground does not correspond to the shadow on the sides of the aquaduct arch, and it is too light in color. Too visually disconcerting.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Really interesting concept. Just need to tighten the execution a bit.
Artifakts is correct, author.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Look at the lamppost near the very center of your image. See how it leans ever so slightly to the right? That is your giveaway, as well as the visual you should work off of to level this out. Photoshop's Measure Tool showed it to be about .87 degrees off. Rotating it really made a notiecable difference. I suggest you try it.
Really nice and crisp, the water drops look good, as does the color. Nice job!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)One footprint looks so odd...Where did the person come from, and where did they go leaving only one???
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Interesting photo.
Nice. The wood grain shows well. Makes me think of the line from George Harrison song, "While my guitar gently sleeps..."
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Cute!
(5 years and 2947 days ago)The composition does a good job of making the lens distortion work. Nice photo.
(5 years and 2947 days ago)Cute baby, but that lady doesn't look like a tree top or a cradle...LOL!
(5 years and 2948 days ago)Great job!
(5 years and 2948 days ago)I'm with kyricom in my jealousy, but am more curious as to your camera settings to get such a gorgeous shot.
(5 years and 2948 days ago)The lighting is very discordant between the woman and the background, it looks like a bad studio set up. The shadows on the model are far darker than the background, and the dark edge along the bottom of the image just emphasizes the discrepancy. Perhaps you can adjust the levels on the woman to brighten her up a bit, or find a "moodier" background that is as dark and heavily shadowed as she is.
(5 years and 2948 days ago)Excellent capture, the light shining through the grapes is wonderful!
(5 years and 2948 days ago)The distortion on the left is very noticeable and very distracting, with the buildings leaning towards the center as they do. I agree that you should crop it - fairly severely to my eye, almost to the middle of the picture, eliminating the side of the one building entirely.
(5 years and 2948 days ago)The roof on the left looks very blotchy and uneven in tone. Good job on the teacher, but the legs and feet of the two centermost children are too light.
